Not all frogs live in ponds.
Your question should be: Why do frogs live near water?
1. Some frogs are born in a pond, therefore the pond is it's home.
2. Frogs that live in ponds need the pond to continue the species, reproduce then recruit more frogs.

Yes. We have a garden pond and live near a big pond and we keep getting them coming to live in our pond! Then we take them back in a bucket. They live in the water because they are amphibians and that is there normal environment. There food is there and they spawn there. They spend some time under the water but come up for air and to bask in the sun.

Actually frogs don't always live in ponds - in London and anywhere if ponds are scarce, frogs live in cool damp conditions like deep in a compost heap that isn't active.
Normally frogs live in ponds to spawn or keep themselves (body temperature and skin) cool and moist.

Frogs live in ponds becaue the moist air round the pond prevents the frog's skin from drying out. Also when they need to hibernate they use the bottom of ponds.
Hope that helped you!! =)

they dont actually live in ponds. but they are amphibians so they can live in and out of water for long periods of time.
frogs need water to lay their eggs(spawn) this is a large jelly mass that can dry out if not laid in water.
frogs eat insects and other invertebrates around water edges using the water for food and protection.

Because they are amphibians and need water to reproduce. Frog spawn needs water to thrive in and would dry up and die otherwise. The tadpoles also need water, why else would they need tails and gills.

Because nobody else in the E U wants them.
Secondly they would look daft living in high rise appartments as their little arms would never reach the buttons to summons the elevator.

becuase they need water to: 1) to be able to mate successfully as their gametes need a watery medium to be fertilised.
2) becuase otherwise the frog would dessicate (dry up) because its skin is too vulnerable to heat.

It's their natural habitat. It's the source of their food supply and they need to keep their skin moist.

frogs live in ponds cuz it helps keep their skin moist, which is necessary to their survival.
