How did World War two affect high school students?

That had "air raid" drills just like kids have fire and tornado drills these days. Can you imagine being a kid and always wondering if one of these days it wouldn't be a drill.

Are you referring to then, or now? If you're wondering about then, many students would have been worried about a draft and I'm sure most people that were high-school aged picked a side of the fight, for or against the war. If you're talking about now, a lot should be learned from WWII. Firstly, is the lesson that we should learn from our mistakes. Waiting to help a race of people that was being exterminated because of slow news or 'it's not our problem,' was a big mistake. Secondly, our HS students will be the next generation to run the world and WWII was a good example of what happens when people follow a leader blindly. Today's youth needs to be more informed in what's going on it the world or the same thing might happen again. Thirdly, WWII is also an example that evil exists in the world. As a HS student, you might be sheltered from things like that but you need to know it exists to know how to fight it.

My mother lived in Texas 45 miles from the boarder of Mexico and she said her older brothers would ride their horses along the boarder and report any suspicious activity.They would do this on the weekends and after school when they were not in school.Her older sisters would work in the fields to pick onions after school because the men had went to war.When they were old enough most of they boys would join the national guards to protect the boarder.There were rations but the local teenagers would pick the fields for fruit and vegetables that couldn't be sold and brought them to the town square so people could feed their families.

Not only did they have special drills for students of all ages, high school students had to get used to their classmates (or even themselves) leaving to go to war, and possibly not returning....

High school students had to learn about it.

But seriously now, I think they had to do regular drills.

It caused a lot of failure because some are too lazy to study history! I'm studying it right now!
