Has anyone read the book "The Secret" ? What is your opinion about it? What is the secret? Is it worth buying?

If you are looking for fiction or mere entertainment, no.

If you want to learn how to improve your life, it is a good start.

There is always more to learn and verify. The journey never seems to end and I am grateful for that.

I have shown this film to dozens of friends and they were all inspired. I also recommend What the Bleep do we Know

and Conversations With God.

Save your money!!! Don't give it to the author of this book -she's already laughing her way to the bank enough.

The Secret is that you need to visualize what you want - and it will then be attracted to you. If it doesn't happen, it's not the Secret's fault - it's yours - you did not do a good enough job visualizing!

If you have cancer, visualize the cure and being healthy and you're all set. If you are overweight, visualize skinny. If your husband cheats, visualize that he's the perfect man.

Sounds simple - too simple. Actually sounds lazy. Everything worth having needs work.

To lose weight, you need to the work of losing it. Cancer treatment isn't just a wish either - it's a lot of real pain. And a good husband means you have to start with a good man and then to do your part too to keep the partnership going.

Save your money or give it to yoru favorite charity - but don't give it to her.

The Secret was worth the read for me. Yes, it's a simple concept; basically info about the Law of Attraction. But the presentation is good, there are some good examples of how to conceptualize the Law of Attraction, and how to use it. There's some inspirational insight from various practioners too.

I admit I haven't read the book (or watched the movie), however, I've read much about it.

Basically, it says that what you put out there, you get back.

Be a positive person, you'll be rewarded.

Seems obvious. Being positive and working hard do tend to lead to greater success than being negative.

It seems to me that even if you believe visualizing something will make it come true, $15 is a lot to spend for someone to tell you about it.

If you're really interested in reading it, I'd save my money and check it out from the library.

I think most of us already knew this.

If you decide to get it; I would recommend checking it out at your local library. I checked the DVD out, and while I agree that thinking positively can improve our lives, I think they took it too far. I also think that they failed to acknowledge the good that can come from suffering (i.e. personal growth).

go to your local library usualy can go on line and reserve it. Saves lots of money. Thought it was okay but all my friends loved it.
