Sending really small items through U.S. mail?

I'm sending a wallet in the mail but I want to save as much money as I can.

I placed it in a bubble wrapped envelope.

What's the best way to send it and how much is it going to cost?

Can I just stick a 39 cents stamp on it and send it in the mail box?

nope-the post office charges by weight-if not enough postage they return it to you. take it to the post office have them weigh it and tell them you want the cheapest option to ship it. should only cost a dollar or so.

I wouldn't. Most post office branches have a postage dispensing machine with a scale.

Or, you could go when they are open. They'll be glad to weight it for you. might need 2 stanps, they go by weight, not size.
