best certifications Microsoft or otherwise?

I'd like to ask what the best IT Certifications are to get. I've been leaning towards MCT (Certified Trainer), MSO (Office Specialist) MCP (Certfied Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional).

Any thoughts? I only want to take one at this time...

Update:

I already have A+ Certification and I've been a proprietary software trainer for almost 20 years.

Something to consider, PMP requires 4500 hours of PM experience with a Bachelors degree 7500 hours of PM without. You will also need to take 35 hours of class before you can apply for the exam.

"Most training for the PMP® certification is both intensive and costly, but the PMP® is generally considered a good investment. According to my 2002 certification salary survey, individuals with a PMI cert averaged $90,000 per year."

Cisco certifications are one of the most reputable in the industry. These require a thorough understanding of networking and CCNA is a good place to start.

PMP is good but as the previous poster said, requires a lot of previous experience. The SMP is also good but not quite as stringent.

Depends on what you want to do. MCP requires that you pass one test. MCT, do you plan to teach?
