    there is no correct pronunciation. both are correct. try to be consistent with your usual english speaking accent. if you usually speak like a brit, say ¨awnt¨, if you usually speak like a midwestern american, say ¨ant¨. also new england uses ¨awnt¨.

    Both are correct, awnt and ant. It depends on where you're from, and what pronunciation your family uses.

    In the south it sounds like Ont. in the North it sounds like Ant

    'aunt' is pronounced as in 'ant'... I think its the different accents that confuses you but this is the proper way to pronounce it...

    sounds the same as aren't, rhymes with can't & shan't
