Not far at all. You can either get a cab, or take a bus. The truth is you don't even need to go that far, right across the street from Disney is a few huge shopping center. Jungle Jim's has nice burgers, but its always most convinient to eat on disney property. The all-stars are not the best hotels, and have some pretty affordable restaurants. If you can try to get upgraded, or maybe you can splurge for something like the Boardwalk. Many restaurants, its like you at 50's cooney island in NY. They actually have a boardwalk, as well as beautiful pool. Good Luck. Have fun on your vacation!

How far is Disney World from Kississimmee

It depends on what side of Kissimmee you wish to visit. For example, Houlihans is the best restaurant in Orlando! It is located off Hwy 192 in Kissimmee, only 3 minutes from Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and the All Star Resorts. The city of Celebration is also a fun place to visit. It is approximately 8-10 minutes from Disney.

If you plan to drive a lot out of Disney property and see other attractions, then I recommend you get a rental car. Avis and Enterprise are best. Medieval Times is a fun dinner show in Kissimmee. Old Town is great for shopping and Boggy Creek Airboat Rides are a lot of fun!

There are busses and taxis. But a rental car would be a better idea. Kissimmee is EAST of Mickey. 15-30 minutes away, depending upon the traffic.

In Kissimmee there is OLD TOWN. On the South Side of the street, right side if you are driving from Disney. They have a big ferris wheel out front. Lots of stores to shop and a few rides. We like it.

Good idea about saving money. Most disney gifts you can get in Kissimmee, at a lot less than disney prices. And a lot of restaurants in Kissimmee.

My friends always say you can spit from Disney to Kissimmee. There has always been a bit of a challenge about just where Disney is located. The majority of Disney property is located in Kissimmee. I believe there are also areas of Disney that are in the Orlando border.

The main hwy in Kissimmee is Hwy 192 and is where you will find most of the other entertainment outside of Disney. You have 3 dinner shows..Medieval Times, Capones, and Arabian Nights. There are numerous putt putt golf courses that is always lots of fun. Olde Towne is another area that has shops, rides and a great old car show on Fridays and Saturday. Also, just about every restaurant chain has a restaurant on Hwy 192

Most people believe that Disney World theme parks are located in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately, for many who book their hotels there hoping to be close by, they’ll find that the Disney theme parks are actually located in the town of Kissimmee, which lies about 20 miles southwest of Orlando. So when checking out lodging, the lower prices of Orlando might seem like a great deal, but the 20 miles of congested freeway traffic and the frustration and annoyance that goes with it might make it more trouble than it’s worth.

Think about it: after surviving the trip with the kids all the way to Florida (“Are we there yet? Are we there yet?), do you really want to spend a half and hour or more every morning listening to the same thing?

I've recently come off of an internship with Disney and wow what a great experience it was. :D I worked in the kitchen at one of the Resorts up close &personal with the Chef and other cooks. Spanish speaking is as dominant as English in Disney. About 90% of my co-workers/interns, including myself where native spanish speakers. Some workers for example the dishwashers, spoke very little English. I had 4 managers. None of them knew Spanish a &i found that quite odd. But as far as NEEDING to know Spanish, it's not required. But it would be a good idea to atleast have an idea you. If you're planning to reside in the Orlando/Kississimmee area it's wise to know a little Spanish. I remember going to Wal-mart one night and asking an associate where i could find an item...and not to my suprise the associate didn't understand/speak English. LOL so yea i hope that gives you a general idea of the Disney language situation. :D

It wouldn't hurt to know a bit of Spanish, so go ahead and take a few courses in high school and college. I'd just like to add that I'm from "down South", and the city I live in pretty much has only Mexican restaurants as far as dine-in places go, but all of the waiters are bilingual. Most of the waiters/waitresses in nearly every restaurant in the area speak English. I'm not sure who or what gave you the impression that Spanish is a necessity, but it's not. It would certainly add to your resume and make you even more valuable as an employee, but I don't think it's a requirement. Hope this helped. Best of luck; hope you get a job at Disney someday! :)

Hello. Disney resort is in kissimmee, but... you need a car or taxi or disney transport just to get out of disney property onto the 192 where there are plenty of restraunts and some entertainment (old town)also downtown disney is an area of entertainment etc.I just hope you enjoy
