What is the significance of our existence if after there death we will be put to heaven or hell?

I mean it's too bad to be in hell spending eternity in a sea of fire living with devils and demons.

Isn't it boring in heaven alike living the rest of eternity with good people alone. There will be no trials and obstacles at all, life will seem to be too flat. Isn't it?

Update:

What is the significance of our existence if after death we will be put to heaven or hell?

Our present life... is it in any way related to heaven or hell? Not in the least. Why?

Our present body has been manifested by our soul atman within our heart. It is the true owner of the body. Whatever karma is performed by the body... the fruits of the karma always belong to our soul atman within.

Whenever matching parents are available on Mother Earth... a soul manifests a body and a human being is born. If matching parents are not available... this soul atman waits either in heaven or hell. It is granted heaven if the residual balance of karma is positive and hell if negative.

In the circumstances... the body... human beings... have they any concern with heaven or hell whatsoever. Heaven and hell are dwelling places for our soul atman within. Every human being is simply supposed to play his part in the cosmic system of things. We simply need to do our karma with the hope that the next manifestation would be better than the present.

It is only when one reaches the 8.4 millionth manifestation... do we gain enlightenment and finally salvation.

A soul manifests a body to cleanse itself of the impurities contained within. The desires and wishes of a human being have absolutely no role to play. It is the soul atman within which is on its cosmic journey. It desires liberation from the cycle of birth and death at the earliest. As a human being we are simply supposed to abide by the dictates of our soul atman.

And what do we think heaven and hell are. Heaven exists in the centre of the sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. The question of getting bored... will it ever arise? Our soul atman is pure energy. We all know that bodily one can never go to heaven. Our atman soul resides in the core of the sun to avoid gaining impurities further.

Why brood over the happenings in heaven or hell... we would ruin our present! The journey of life as a human being is the most pleasant sojourn in the cosmic life cycle of every soul atman. Only as a human being shall a soul atman liberate forever. More on heaven or hell - http://www.godrealized.org/understanding_the_whole...

The concept of Heaven and Hell never really made any sense to me either. What's the sense of torturing people for all eternity? What possible constructive result could come from torturing and harming souls for all eternity , other than providing some amusement for a warped supreme being.

And then Heaven seemed even worse to me...sitting on a cloud strumming on some harp certainly doesn't sound like a good time to me..and man..would it get old fast. Even the idea of getting everything you wanted in Heaven sounded like it would only keep me amused for a short time. There would be no challenges, no problems to solve and no new experiences.

    Yuck..no thanks

I don't believe in heaven or hell; I believe in reincarnation. Each lifetime a soul experiences, is a chance to learn a lesson. If the lesson is not learned, it is repeated in the next lifetime. The soul makes choices between lifetimes to decide what lesson it needs to learn in order to become a perfect soul and join with supreme being. I guess that could be close to what one may consider heaven.

The significance of our life here as a follower is like what Paul talked about when he was running for a prize. There are degrees of heaven and of hell. The average good person who spent his life raising his kids, tithing at church, but DIDN'T know Christ will not suffer the same as Hitler, Manson, Lennon, or Satin

To either be one with God or to be without Him. I live on earth with evil all around me and it just doesn't work for me. I can't get into evil when I detest it so much. I don't know about heaven being boring but, I sure can't wait to get there. I want to finally get my rest for eternity. I don't want to ever have to worry about anything ever again. After this life, huh, I deserve an eternity of rest.

may i please suggest a book for you to read.. it's called 23 minutes in hell by bill wiese! We all have a purpose here whether we know what it is or not. I don't believe heaven will be boring , but even if it was, I would rather be bored than tortured and burned for eternity!

    eh. i couljdnt agree more.

no heaven, no hell (according to me). i mean, when u think about it, it really doesnt make sense to be condemned to an ETERNITY of hell for a mere LIFETIME of sin.

i dont claim to know the purpose of the WORLD, but it helps when u have a life's purpose in mind.

find it. after a while, you stop trying to figure out the ways of God and let him do what he wants to.

We are here to help others . There is no hell or heaven other than the ones you make for yourself here on earth .

Wouldn't an eternity of existence be torture, regardless of where you were.

If I had a choice between death (permanent) and eternal existence, I would choose death.

Our life here on earth and what we do determines where we will spend eternity so..... the significance of our life on earth is to determine where we will spend eternity.
