Streaks on stainless steel?

I have tried Windex and other methods but I still have those streaks on my stainless steel refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

sucks doesnt it. didn't think about it when buying the stainless steel. LOL

    okay sucker lol

always wipe it with the grain of the steel. that way any really small marks you might leave are masked by the grain of the steel.

the grain is which way the direction of the steel was made. you'll see it as straight lines up and down or side to side.

Stainless Steel Magic has always worked well for me. It comes in a spray can and can be found in the cleaning section of Home Depot.

Try Easy Off, it's a cleaning sloution for ceramic and steel, you clean oven with that stuff, or maybe you should try CLR, the ceaning stuff.

CLR is a powerful formula available for dissolving tough calcium and lime deposits and surface rust stains from:

    -Tubs

    -Toilet bowls

    -Sinks

    -Glass

    -Chrome

    -Fiberglass

    -Stainless steel

    -Coffee makers

    -Humidifiers

    -Dishwashers

    -Washing machines

    -Shower heads

    KEY BENEFITS:

Removes calcium, lime and rust quickly and easily.

Fast-acting, powerful formula with no rubbing and scrubbing.

Septic safe and contains no phosphates

Source(s): I love using CLR for stuff like that, if you need more info on this product: www.jelmar.com/CLRproducts.asp

I have stainless appliances also. There's special stainless steel appliance cleaner that you should use. ANY of them will work just fine. Windex will NOT work! Windex is great on windows....not on stainless.

I tried sandpaper. Which actually worked but it made the metal a little scratched up. so actually technically it didn't work.

I'd like to know the answer to this problem as well.

Streak-free Cinch works wonders - you can also use rubbing alcohol on paper towels

i fiond polishing with a very dry cloth is best!

try that first, before you get any vinegar or products out....they will only leave more streaks...
