What is wrong with me?
I am 35 weeks preg. and for the past 2-3 weeks ive been dealing with sever itching all over body there is no rash visible. Ive discussed this with my OB and had liver check out. Results were normal. Hes prescribed Zertec, it helps but only for a short while. Ive also taken benadryl which only relieves itch for a short time also. I dont know what else to do. Now my hands and feet itch so bad, that I cause them to bleed. I trimmed my nails just so that I wont cause scarring. I am sooo tired. The only time i find relief is when I am asleep and I dont get to sleep very much. Did I mention, I suffer from insomia also. Im beginning to hate being pregnant. Is there anything else out there that may help with the itch. I cant stand it anymore, my feet and hands swell so bad that they look like sausages. lol. And now im dealing with carpal tunnel to my right hand to where it goes numb and pain radiates to my elbow. I see dr in 3 days. Has anyone gone through all this?

Well, I didn't have all of that, but I did have PUPPS (a pregnancy-related rash) that itched horribly. I also tried the Benadryl and Zyrtec and found that it helped for a while. Another thing that I tried with a little success is taking a warm (not hot) oatmeal bath and using Aveeno anti-itch lotion as soon as I got out of the tub. It didn't last a super-long time, but it usually stopped the itching for long enough that I could fall asleep. Good luck -- it'll be over soon!

I had some severe itching, rash and swelling on my hands around 30 wks. It turned out to be a reaction to my sheets and pillowcases. I switched to 100% cotton linens and it went away in 2 or 3 days.
It could be a reaction to your body wash, lotion, perfume, laundry detergent, fabric softener or a synthetic fiber in your clothes.
A poultice of oatmeal, ice packs, a COLD shower or unscented lotion may help reduce itching enough to help you get some sleep.

What kind soap have you been using?? and about your clothes how do y wash them...also check the food you've been eating..do some strechs before going into the pc...dance around the house...walk out...exercise...also you can put your hand inside warm water and salt let stay for awhile...but be careful with cold changes...don´t go into refrigerator or cold water afterwards...put something warm around your hands....and relax!
