It's not something that can be cured without surgery, but it can be controlled by avoiding all acidy foods, like citrus fruit, tomatoes etc., and "hot' foods like curries and chillies. Also avoid laying down too soon after eating. In time you will learn what else triggers it, and what to avoid.

This can cause gastric reflux and lead to some serious problems if left untreated. The best treatment is to take a proton pump inhibitor (Prilosec, Nexxium, and others). Prilosec is available without a prescription now so give it a try. Take Prilosec (omeprazole) every day for a month and see if it improves. It takes several days for Prilosec to work so be patient.

avoid spicey foods and try sleeping on a slight incline (2 pillows) milk sometimes helps, but too much will aggrivate the situation. watch your weight and don't stress over it
