Whoa, I need to show this site to people because I've been trying to explain this for so many years. Thank you for bringing this up.

This would take a lot of time to answer. One thing I can say is that isn't an objective study. An objective analist wouldn't have come up with most of those chapter titles, since most of them are completely opposite the truth. Amazes me how bigoted people spew out lies with no regard to factuality ( nothing against you, you're just asking a question ). If you want a good explanation for some reasons not to abandon Christianity go to leestrobel.com, and look around you and think about it. Most Christian are people honestly trying to do good. Good luck

Sorry, but every single one of those reasons is based upon assumptions and misinformation. The person who wrote those has decided Christianity was wrong and looked for reasons to support preconceived ideas. Much of the history is incomplete and out of context. The idea of fear as a motivating factor is from less than complete information. The conclusions about many of the issues supported by Christianity are without substance because they are separated from the whole.
Go ahead, give me a thumbs down but if you're going to read propaganda at least make sure you investigate the facts before you swallow it.

Here are some reasons to abandon christianity:
1. It is based solely on love and it is love from another being bigger than us.
2. Its major tenants center around service and helping others
3. Its theology is emotional as well as intellectual
4. It addresses our vulnerabilities and then addresses how we can deal with them.
5. Through christian teachings we learn about a God who longs to give us meaning and hope for the future
6. We also learn about a God who is in control and we are not and so we need not worry or be anxious about our future.
7. It helps to give us purpose and discipline in our lives.
These are just some reasons to leave. You could even say that the main reason to leave would be because Christ teaches us how to love and who wants or needs that?

I think those are all good reasons to abandon Christianity, but that religion still has millions and millions of followers because it is not dependent on reason.

The only valid reason for abandoning any belief is that the belief is likely false. While your listed reasons are true they are not the reason you should abandon Christianity. The reason you should abandon it is because it is false.

No wonder atheist are so misguided about Christianity; although I will also say that some 'Christians' may also be part of the misleading of souls in USA too!!!

You know, Christianity is not what you think it is. Christianity is about living your life as kind and loving person. Christianity is about not judging people, it's about respect for life and yourself and your neighbors. It's about mercy and compassion. It's about forgiveness even though you've been wronged. It's about a God who loves us. It's about love. Those Christians who that website is referring to are not true Christians and should never call themselves such. My faith is open and honest and I love being a Christian. It gives me a fullfillment that nothing else can. Why do people criticize me for that? My faith keeps strong so why do people feel the need to challenge my beliefs. They are good for me. I'm not asking that you accept them as your own, I'm asking that you respect my wish to worship my god. It's my right just as its yours to accept whatever religion you are.

There are thousands of reasons but those are definitely great ones. No Xian can deny that these are problems that cause people not to follow their myths. I will patiently wait for the Xians lame responses.
