2 year olds are always interested in animals and nature. Go for nature walks and give her a paper sack to collect nature items. Then take them home and set them out and sort them, count them, or size them. Take a clean paint brush and a pail of water and let her paint the sidewalk, house, trees etc. We like sitting on the ground and finding bugs who crawl by. I don't mind touching them so if possible I pick them up and we watch their eyes, legs and wings. 2 year olds also love anything messy. Play dough, slime, floam are good to play together with her. Of course don't let her eat it but show her how to make things and play with it. Hope this helps some.

At 2 years old, the whole world is brand new to her. When my daughter was my age she had great fun with the simple things. Just keep in mind that the fun is in the doing, not in the results. To that end, I offer this partial list.

    Make mud pies.

Pick flowers (weeds will do just fine).

    Look at insects.

Scribble with crayons on a piece of blank paper. Make a paper hat and let her wear it.

Go to a pet store and look at the fish.

Get some of your old make up and let her put make up on you and vice versa. Dad can wear make up also.

Play dress up. Let her wear your shoes.

Have an old cell phone that you don't use. Pretend phone calls to anyone are fun. Answering the phone is especially fun if you can make it ring.

Make a tail out of paper or an old towel. Pretend she's a pony.

These are all things I did with my daughter when she was that age.

    Good Luck!

  • My son loved the zoo when he was 2. We were there for 6 and 1/2 hours the first time we went!!! He had the greatest time of his life. We ate, rode a train, merry go round, of course, he really wasn't interested in the animals, he was into running, so we saw everything toddler style and just ran past it. :o)

I know girls are usually better than boys at this...I can't do it w/ my son but maybe she's ready for a movie!

take her to the park all kids love the park. it was raining the other day and my son was bored so i went in the basement grabbed a big computer box and we made a cardboard house together. A lot of fun for him and me. i cut and shaped the pieces (i used a box cutter) tapped them together while he colored the house. he's 18 months old

my two year old cousin loves to go to the zoo. depending upon where you live, you can get monthly or yearly passes, so you can go when ever and you won't waste your money if she gets cranky or needs a nap, or whatever. If you want a more inexpensive activity to do go to the park. you should also make sure you play with her to encourage imagination.

Well I am thinking of what my 3 year old sister likes to do... She loves to play at parks, or if u have one of those junping places near you, like Monkey Bizness or something like that younger kids love to go there, or anywhere where they can just run and play!

Go outside and follow her around.

You guys will find lots of dirt, flowers, bugs, rocks and other stuff to play with.

play hide-n-seek, make a tent in the livingroom, throw a ball, play with baby dolls, blocks, finger paint, --if she don't put things in her mouth you can pour dry beans on the floor and give her cars to play with.
