Law and Rights?

What I was wondering is this: One officially becomes an adult in the USA at age 18, yet they are not allowed to consume or purchase alcohol. Are there any other things that it is illegal for 18 year olds to do that become legal to do at age 21, or is drinking the only thing that 18 year olds are not allowed to do?

You can't rent hotel rooms at most hotels until you are 21. You also can't gamble in casinos until you are 21.

can't drink, can't gamble, can't rent some hotel/condo rooms, can't hold some jobs. however you CAN go to war and kill, witness people being killed, and perhaps even be killed.

somethings gotta change here, either raise military age to 21, or lower everything to 18, but untill you are free to do everything, you shouldn't be a legal adult, and children should not go to war.

Fortunately, you have the right to vote at 18, and i'm told that voting can change things.

If the law says you must be an adult, then 18 is the magic number. Alcoholic beverage control says you must be 21, and says nothing about being an adult.

Vote? Run for some (not all) political offices. Some work places have a rule that a person must be 21 or over to work there.

That's the only one I know of. Have you ever known anyone who was killed in a car accident by a drunk teenager?
