How would you prove your religion to Socrates using the dialectic method of inquiry?

Update:

*Coffee* - Why would you feel the need to prove to God that you believe in him? Shouldn't that be something he knows innately?

I am posing this as a hypothetical. It's not "Why would you", but "how", if you were put in the above situation.

First the poor guy would have to catch up on a couple of thousand of years of scientific advance in all fields, and then it really wouldn't be an issue anymore.

    But for form:

    - is a god necessary for the functioning of the universe?

    - is a god self-evident in this universe?

    - why are there so many different gods, many mutually exclusive?

    - wouldn't an omnipotent, omniscient being be very observable?

I am an atheist, and therefore Socrates would have to either accept or deny my assertion that I believed same. Further inquiry would be fruitless.

There would be nothing more for it than to simply out argue him and ask as many questions as he does... In order to win with Socrates, you would need to meet him on his own ground. This means questioning his beliefs as much as he questions yours and outwitting him in his own game of rhetoric.

You'd also need to suck up to Plato (maybe throw him a few pieces of silver), as he was the main scribe of Socrates' theories. Maybe he'd throw favourable light on your argument if you get a few amphoras of wine into him first.

I would use the general to the particular type of reasoning. We are all sinners in need of salvation, etc. etc.

    Peace and every blessing!

I am not sure, but I imagine someone will come along later and answer that question. (Later) when computers have improved by thoughtwave technology.
