Which breastpump would you purchase?

Here's the thing: My husband's very good friend got a girl pregnant the night they met. They have been trying to make it work ever since and they now even live together.

The baby shower is next week and when I spoke with her about a gift she said she didn't ask anyone for any breastfeeding supplies because she didn't know if it was appropriate to put on the registry.

I offered to buy a pump.... other people we were with were raving about the Medela pumps. I went to target.com and saw that there is a Lanisoh pump that gets the same reviews at Medela, has a patented system to not allow milk to back up into the tubing and it even fits the medela accessories (like the clip to make it hands free) I personally own 3 different models of medela pumps and had no luck with any of them- I never let down for them once.

So.. do I buy the lanisoh pump which is $150, or do I get the $250 medela pump simply for the brand name? I am pregnant and plan to buy the lanisoh for myself.

i LOVE LOVE the lanisoh pump!!! my little boy is 8 1/2 months and i have pumped from day one , i started using it like 8 times a day , now i use it 4 times a day, Every-Day. i RECOMMEND every mom buy this pump!! its easy to clean and so durable , i drooped on my wood floor a couple of times LOL and it still works perfectly! and the price is awesome too and it helped me build a good milk supple, i get 16oz every time i pump. i have a freezer full of back stock i feel like a cow sometimes lol!!

If you feel that the Lanisoh is a better brand I recommend you get the same one for her. It's not all about name brand when it comes to quality, so if you think that it's a better buy and it will save you some money get that one. With the extra money you can buy some of the Medela accessories that also fit it.

I would wait on the pump since you said you had no luck with the medela pumps ...and those were the ones i'd reccomend I highly reccomed the Medela Symphony pump if you can get your hand on one of them usually through a hospital...but maybe she could try using one of your pumps after the babys born to see if she has luck with it and if nt then get the otther pump b/c they are pricy! All she'd have to do is but another attachment kit so that no body fluids mixed and it's perfectly sanitary. Thats what i'd do.

Between the Medela and the Lasinoh pump, pick the cheaper one if you had no luck with the other one... I personally recomment the Avent pumps- I love mine: it's quick and I get a lot of milk each time I use it. Good luck!

I would buy the cheaper one and tell her that you never had any luck with the Medela. I registered for the Lanisoh one if I don't get it I will buy it myself.

i admire love love my Ameda basically Yours. I artwork complete time so a good electric pump is a could. I rented a wellbeing facility pump on the initiating, yet those are not precisely discrete and transportable. I have been given merely as good effects with the Ameda. I choose I hadn't of wasted the one hundred twenty dollars for the wellbeing facility condominium and merely offered my $one hundred eighty Ameda first. We nurse solely, no supplementing, and the Ameda comes via.

i would but the lanisoh and let her know why..get a gift receipt from the store so she can return it and get the other if she chooses too..i wouldnt just get a gift card i think those at times can be tacky..but to get her a gift she needs is better even if she chooses to return it and upgrade to a different brand name..its the thought that counts

That is kind of personal, as she implied. Why don't you get her a nice gift card and tell her the bad luck you've been having with these products. A doctor might give her access to better equipment.
