What's up in Hockeytown?

The Wings have the best record in the West but 2,500 season ticket holders did not pick up the option to buy 1st round playoff tickets.

What's up in Detroit?

Update:

Laughing---have you watched a Wings home game this season? They may be selling all the tickets but the ticketholders are not bothering to go to the games. The lower bowl has been over half empty almost every home game.

I think some fans are a little nervous because Detroit didnt do well in the playoffs the last couple of years. Especially now that Stevie Y. is gone, as well as Shanahan and McCarty. If the Wings can get past the first round this year, which I think they will, then the fans will come back.

I'm not a season ticket holder, however because I'm on the waiting list I was offered the option to buy tickets before the public release. I choose to pass because I have been to many 1st and 2nd round games but never 3rd or 4th. In other words I'm saving my money for 3 & 4.

As far as empty seats in the regular season the NHL needs to revamp the schedule we can only see the Blue Jackets so many times!

They will sell...Detroit never has a problem selling out any show even in bad economic times.

they know the wings are going downhill and have chosen to exit early (like they will in the playoffs) and get interested in something else.
