Lost Faith in President?

Matthew Dowd - Chief Campaign Strategist for Bush during the 2004 election has publicly come out to express the disappointment of the actions the president has taken in ignoring the "will of the people" when it came to Iraq.

He stated that the president continues to have a "my way or the highway" approach to leadership. Americans, your views on this?

(66% of the country believe that Bush does not share the same views/beliefs of America)

Update:

SpiritWind - Before the war the President had a 54% in the above mentioned poll. Curious as to why you believe the shift from support to non-support.

Update 2:

Ret_Roch_Cop - If you bothered to notice I asked "Americans" what do you think? I didn't take a narrow stance like you of libs vs. cons. This seems to be the basis of any of your answers/arguments. If you can't think of anything to say then don't respond. Intelligent Conservatives and Liberals alike would agree.

In 1945 Hitler had the same attitude. All his generals tried to tell him the war was going bad. Hitler and Bush did the same thing they changed generals and leaders in their parties in order to gain strength but failled, all bush is doing is rearaging the deck chairs on the titanic (its going down George.!) be he needs to be right, reminds me of a kid in the schoolyard who was goated into a fight with the tough guy at school and cant get out of it, but were taking the beating or our children are.. this war will now go on forever we have as the Japonees once said. : i fear we have awoken the sleeping giant" after pearl harbour.

insanity enters the mind and just wont let them admit they are ill, he is to be pittied and pulled down from the drivers seat, have all republicans and democrats gone crazy,? dont they recognise when someone has lost it, if Bush was president of Ford or General Motors he would have been gone long ago, yet we just stand by and hope that one man or a women can be elected and fix it all in just a short time, we cant even look each other in the face and say we are good Americans we care about the children in Iraq and other countries all the while failling our own chilkdren right here in America. No Bibble quotes are nessesary but a realist should be able to see we are on a sure path of destruction and children in America will hate us for what we have committed them for the rest of their lives, hate fear distrust, is what is the foundation of the Bush and the rest of the parties in america dont you remember what the democrates said before they were elected in the last race?

they said they would put an end to this scabby war and pull out and bring our boys home, it was all lies they are just republicans turned inside out and unfortunatelly no x failure of a newyork govenor or a scorned wife of a deviot passed president, or the son of a failed president will ever change America again, we need real change Obamma hillory george you must stop pointing fingers at each other and just shut up. you dont have any idea what is needed to be the poresident of America, unfortunately neiother does anyone else, the spin doctors must all be pout in jail or executed to stop the lies, our children in the future must have a life instead of stupid phones and ipods stuck in their ears. get back to being just plain Americans instead of a fake world power, we cant win this stupid war but we can loose it .

Bush is almost done he has no more tricks we all know it now,

will the big business people that are the real reason behind this war agree?

sorry i ran on and on I just felt it needed to be said.

I fully belive in Bush, and support him 100%. I Belive america needs to open our eyes, and see that everything isnt as golden out there as it is in here. Talk to some Iranians and see what they think about the war and maybe your thoughts will be changed. How do people expect Bush to do a great job when you dont give him any support? Another idea, Bushhad a higier rating when the Oil prices went down, people were actually saying the war was doing good, for the small two or so weeks. His rating of doing well was above 60%. But then when the gas goes up, the rating goes down. Now how do americans say, Bush is an oil hungry maniac? Well off to church for me!

When George Bush was elected, I really didn't feel strongly about either candidate, Gore or Bush. On September 11, I was willing to support the President, and overlook comments such as his "crusade" comments. But since then, it has become clear that George Bush has squandered the support he had from the American people and the good will of the world at large. Yes. I have lost faith in the President.

It's a shame that a President won't do the will of the people. The problem seems to be the same with any person that makes it to the level of President of the free world. This crud of being 'Politically Correct' has gone on to far for too long.

I'm not sure if we will ever have a president that will listen to the people. We surely don't see any others in elected office that do the will of the people. It's all about their 'agenda' and we the people seem to be powerless against them, why?

If we ran our house like the government runs the country, think how wonderful things would be! May GOD help us all.

I lost faith in President Bush when he responded to 9/11, and therefore did not vote for him in 2004 like I did in 2000. Having already lost all faith in him before his pre-planned invasion of Iraq, there was nothing more to lose. Having been a soldier for 21 years, I have not lost faith in the military.

Mr. Bush has failed miserably as a Leader of America, has ruined the Country Financially, has never earned the Trust, Respect and Confidence of the American People, has caused other Countries to look down on America, has Blood on his hands and it isn't his blood, is a Fear Monger and War Monger, has taken real good care of the haves and have mores and forgot about the rest of the American People, is a Divider of the People not a Uniter, has kept Sixteen(16*)+ Million American Workers in Poverty since 1997 by denying an increase in the Minimum Wage... No one who works for a living should have to live in Poverty> Attention U.S. Government and American Employers****! Thank you Georgie for your DISSERVICE to AMERICA.........

What I don't understand about you libs is that you'll take the words of this guy and trumpet it as some great vindication of your stance, but you all run around shreiking at the top of your lungs about Dick Morris being a traitor because he's telling the truth about the Clintons.

I'll explain the Dowd phenominon by simply pointing at Morris and saying "Right Back Atcha Sparky"!! Now be a good little lib and make a violation report about me for hurting your feelings.

I am not from the US but it seems George Bush will do what ever George Bush wants with total disregard of the rest of the world. This is obvious looking at the war on terror, fair enough it start by justifiable reason but Bush has continued it on his own tangent and will continue to do so in all aspects untill he is replaced by the next President.

More frightening still, the Social Darwinists sitting atop the food chain in the wealthiest, most powerful nation in humanity’s history now have access to their own paramilitary force. They can unleash their private army on the "unfittest" when the need arises, whether it be within America's borders or otherwise. New Orleans is a prime example. 150 highly trained Blackwater quasi-military professionals openly armed with assault weapons descended on a tragedy-stricken city. As hurricane victims taking necessities were called "looters" and shoot to kill orders were in effect, those who value property over people saw to it that their interests were well-protected. Thankfully, Blackwater was there to protect the patrician class from the "savages" from the Lower Ninth Ward who had the audacity to attempt survival.

Blackwater is one of many symptoms of a very sick America. Thomas Paine would feel deeply ashamed of what has become of the nation he helped forge with his powerful writing.
