Christians: isn't God a little vengeful?
He preaches forgiveness: "when a man hits you on the cheek, offer him the other cheek too." Those who are evil will be saved as long as they convert before they die, out of fear or not. On the other hand, no matter how good a person is, just because he doesn't believe, God will throw him into hell to burn. Where's the forgiveness? What's with the discrimination? This is pretty messed up, and I'd like some logical explaination.

No logical answer from me, just to add how is god so forgiving if killings are done in his name? What happens to those people who kill in his name, are they forgiven by him?

You know the whole story about Jesus right. He came and died on the cross so everyone (including you can be saved). If he didn't care he wouldn't even come and influence history. Does that sound fair to you? He only asks you believe in him and repent from your sins, he does not ask you for anything else. People that have done evil and people that ignore his word will have their share later. He forgives if you accept him as your savior and repent from your sins.

God is not vengeful only some people choose to be. Living a good life is one's choice too. God is an all loving god. He gave us Jesus who loves the sinners as well. Sounds like you might be a little mixed up, Jesus died on that cross so all can be forgiven their sins.

God knows and understands people perfectly. We, with out limited knowledge of others and their intents, cannot perfectly judge people like God can. So God doesn't need to forgive all, but we do. Justice will come in the end (not necessarily this life) if it is requisite. The parable I like for this is the one with the debtor. The man who owed his lord a great sum of money and was completely forgiven his debt, but then he goes out after someone who owes him a very small sum and won't forgive him. This man, of course, once his lord finds out, is not forgiven. But that's what we need to remember: we all owe so much to the Lord and it is not our place to judge others, but to forgive them as we have been forgiven. But the Lord, who is just and who knows us all very much, can forgive who he will forgive.

He will forgive and bring ALL His children to Himself. If you aren't a child of God you are outside His grace... Jim

Hello..ti :)
I say this in Love.. :)
God gives "You the choice" to either believe in Him or not..
He will Not "force you" to go to Heaven nor does He throw you in hell..it is "Your Choice"..
Say you have a child and they said they wanted to hang around with known gang members, would you being a loving and caring parent try and convince them not to..
If your child disobeys you and joins them, are "you at fault" or are "they", did not they make their "own choice"..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

Yes, he is. However, if you never "really" knew him, he will not condemn you to hell. After Christ returns he will teach the people his true way--not what man's ideas are of Christianity. You will then get to decide if you want to follow him.
As I see it, right now, the only people who are in any real danger of going to hell are those who profess to being Christian. We are the only ones who profess to "know" him. If we then deny him we are the ones who chose death over life.

In order to understand going to heaven you have to understand some basics about God and heaven. He is perfect and without sin. Every single person who has ever lived, except Jesus, is sinful. Evil, in His eyes. They cannot avoid it. Heaven is a perfect place, also without sin. God will never allow sin to enter heaven. So someone has to pay for our sin. We certainly could never pay the price. So, God caused Mary to conceive and Jesus to be born and live as a man, without sin, in order for him to be able to take my sin, and yours, and my great-great-great grandmothers, and every person's on earth sin on his own shoulders as a substitute for punishing you and denying you entry into that perfect place, heaven. And those hours of punishment of His Son were more terrible for Him and the Son than anyone could ever imagine. Hangling from the cross Jesus was punished for everyone who ever cheated on their wife, abandoned their child, pimped, fornicated, stole, lied, fudged on their taxes, blasphemed, disrespected their parents, gossiped about a neighbor - trillions of sins committed and to be committed by everyone on earth throughout time, so that those sins could be lifted off our shoulders and the slate wiped clean in order for us to enter that perfect place and live with God at the end and for eternity. . And all he asks is that we believe it and appreciate it. If, out of our puffed up pride, we refuse to believe in the greatest sacrifice ever made, then we can't be cleansed of our natural state and enter heaven. No exceptions, many many second chances while we're still alive, but no more chances after we die. The price of that ticket to heaven was terrible to pay, for God, but so easy for us to pay for. He's already done the hard part. If we refuse to play by his rules in this one simple matter of faith, then we wouldn't fit- in, in heaven. We don't get to make the rules. God makes them. Everyone who hears a message like this has the opportunity, but unfortunately some don't take advantage of it. Whoever you are who asked this question, I sincerely hope I've helped you understand it. I pray for it, in Jesus' name.

God is righteous. He does what He says. Sad if you do not like it the way it is. I wonder if anyone can like the alternative better, but we are free to choose.
