Got that right, I know everyone fears the dreaded dealer but the air bag is an explosive ready to go off. I have 2 of my guys trained in proper maintenance and I am not a dealer I have a 35 year old shop and we do airbag and ABS service just like the big boys do. You need to get it in as it can false trigger but this light usually disables the bags.

If you don't feel that there is a problem with the SRS, try disconnecting the batter for about 5 minutes and then connect it again. This resets all codes and problems stored in the car's computer and the light should go off. If it comes on again within a month or so, I recommend taking it in to the dealer.

Hmmm... I really have the ninety seven Accord Ex and to my expertise, the SRS mild is the seen comments sensor out of your airbag gadget. surely, that's meant to come back on once you commence the vehicle, stay on for six - 8 seconds then burst off even as your airbag gadget is primed. in case your sensor mild isn't turning off, then you really have really one of two complications. both a small electric powered project with the sensor (value approx $50 to fix, non-serious, takes about a million hour to envision & restoration) or the a lot more advantageous severe priced project at the same time with your airbag gadget (which takes a Honda qualified Technician in simple terms and would value a touch as a lot as $10,000.00 to change your airbag gadget... which your coverage will allow you to know to change the vehicle then because it won't be able to be insured without your airbag gadget...) that's certainly no longer a remember challenge, as there replaced into no disorder with the style for that 365 days or an different even as it had an airbag gadget put in. best suggestion, take it on your human being mechanic (ideally one which does no longer artwork for Honda straight away) and characteristic them seem on the sensor gadget/electrics. If he/she will be able to locate the fault, that's a short restoration and also you're finished. If no longer, contact Honda and tell them there's a project at the same time with your airbag gadget. then you really can could tell them to change your airbag gadget, or replace the vehicle. you'll then have a lengthy wait and quite a number of different more advantageous calls (over a three - 6 month era) and make the attempt to hint down the authorities to blame for coping with questions of protection (do not worry with the dealership, they could't/gained't do something) for which u . s . you're in. Make an appointment to be sure in simple terms that individual, and do not enable some different person manage you. search for suggestion from from this individual, tell them the priority, tell them you want an basic answer, replace your airbag protection gadget, or replace the completed automobile.

If the SRS light is on its because of a problem. If the DTC 9-1 is set, it will require replacement of the airbag module. Take it to the dealer for proper diagnosis. Airbags can kill you if you do something wrong.
