Part two. On the oxtails at reception question.?
It won't be the only meat available. I like what I like and my friends like them also. I'm not a dink either. I just like them enough to eat 3 to 4 times a week. They taste so good. I want the other people to share in my love for them. That's all.

Lindaj, If you two are paying for the food, shouldn't he get what he wants? Both of you and you guest will remember that you served oxtails because it is unusual. if it gets on your dress, use bicarb of soda and vinegar to wash it out. I love oxtails. what is the problem with them?

Once again, I choose Linda's side.
Man, let it go. Linda has probably dreamed of this day since she was 12 years old, and oxtails was not in her vision. I'm actually very surprised that you wouldnt want her to have the day she always dreamed of because a wedding means so much to a girl. And please, if you eat them 3-4 times a week you can certainly live without them for 1 day. But I promise you this, women have incredible memories and can pull things out at a moment notice, if you insist on this meal, I can promise you that you will pay for it for the rest of your life. You will be having an argument in 20 years about tennis shoes and she will pull out the oxtails at your wedding and make it fit the argument perfectly. (I know this because I do it too, but my oxtails is his freakin' vest at the wedding). I swear, you will be punished with this for the rest of your life, as a wife myself, I am giving you this freindly advice, leave the oxtails off the menu. Its not worth your beautiful wife's smile the day of your wedding.

why cant the ox tails be a choice at the reception. u can have shrimp or chicken and then oxtails. if the guest feels they can handle oxtails then allow them to make the choice knowing they are a delicate fare and take into consideration what context they are in and they should proceed cautiously. i enjoy ox tails and i dont "suck the juice" from the bones :) as i am sure there are others who do not either. compromise, i have on things, my wedding is 07/07 and there has been a lot of give and take and some middle ground issues.
if he can afford to serve ox tails to a group of people at the price of them since Emeril had them featured go ahead. let him. stay clear of guests whose preferences lean toward ur fh or station moist towlettes within your grasp. dont u want to be able to meet and greet your guests instead of cowering in a corner protecting ur dress? i understand the dress issue, i have a Maggie Sottero and i am sure its gonna get touched to say it midly but the next business day it will be cleaned and stored and i will have fond memories of my wonderful day not of who touched me with their greasy hands. oh and shrimp and chicken can be messy depending on whos eating it.
enjoy your day, good luck

i think you two need to relax this day is not that scary. On that day any thing can happen. Just have fun and love each other.
If your dress get dirty no big deal all pictures will be taken at the beginning so no bad photos for the record. And besides are you going to were your wedding dress to work?! too bad so much money go to 0 I don't think some dirt or burn or ... should spoil your day. Right.
I married my wife two times and two times i had a lot of fun. At the first wedding some of our friend got so drunk they ended up sleeping in our room. Second time we at the end changed our close got on the plain and hello Mexico. All guest left behind and worries too.

Well, I'm sure your friends will be able to enjoy the choices, of chicken, seafood, or steak. They should eat what they are served, since we are paying for it. I do not have a problem with oxtails, I eat them to personally. I just dont want to have to be bothered with cleaning my dress on my wedding day. He can have shrimp and chicken, why does it have to be oxtails. He can give it up for one day, just one day. He dont have them everyday, so it wouldn't hurt for another day.
