How many calories a day should I consume?
How many calories a day should I consume if I'm trying to lose around 15-18 pounds? My current weight is 138
I think I once heard that you have to multiply your weight by 10 to figure out how many calories you should take in, but I might be mistaken.
Is there a specific formula to figure it out or something?

Go to www.calorie-count.com, I use this website, it's free and is awesome not only with helping you figure out calorie intake related to size, body type and goal weight, BUT it's also helps you track your calorie consumption daily like a journal AND it can find info on certain restaurants if you ever eat out. I love it

I am on the nutrisystem diet and it says that I should consume around 1200 calories a day plus excersize. I am now consuming 850-900 calories a day and hardly working out and I have already lost 9.2 pounds in two weeks. I am heavier than you by about 40 pounds so your weight might take a little longer to lose but as long as you don't feel weak or dizzy you are fine. Just remember that you need to eat the right kind of calories. If you go onto Nutrisystem.com they have all the right calories and carbs mapped out for you and you don't have to buy the program to view all of the site. You just need to sign up for the online and it's free. Stay away from the junk food. And drink lots of water at least 8 8oz glasses a day. Hope this helps!!!

No to lose weight the calories actually depend on your lifestyle the average to lose weight is 1200 but some people do it on 900 it depends on how you distribute the calories. Look into low Gi foods they have less calories and keep you satified for longer. Good luck

well you can go to google and type in 'daily calorie needs calculator.' actually one second. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculato... you can go there and find out. but here's how you lose weight: lets say you eat 2,000 calories (you should count your calories, it helps) and so to lose two pounds a week (this is the max. to be healthy!) you need to work off 3,000 calories a day. a deficit of 1,000 calories a day is what you need to lose 2 pounds a week. hope this helped and good luck!

That's about right for an average metabolism. You should probably stay under 1500 calorie per day.

it really depends on your age and how much you excersice if you are 13-18 I would say about 150 a day but remember when you eat you want to excersice for 30 minutes for every meal if you dont mind excercising than about 1 hour.

It matters how much you do in a day. if you do a lot of exercise you can eat more. If you do a little amount of exercise you have to eat less
