How do I found out what the ppl running for president stand for?

I want to creat an account on myspace that shows what each president stands for so that I can get more of my younger generation to vote and stay in tune with the upcoming election. I just think its time for the African American race to stop just voting for Democrates because thats what everyone else does you know. So could someone direct me to the place to find information.

You'll probably get the best info by going to each candidate's website, but if you want a basic summary of each one, I'd use either the Washington Post or the League of Women Voters. Good Luck!! It's very admirable that you want to get the younger voters involved since statistically they are the ones who vote the least.

This is a website that has a link to each candidate and a little synopsis of each of their views. This also includes some of the lesser known candidates. Plus you can always go to their individual websites to gain more info.

I applaud you for wanting to make an informed decision rather than voting democrat or republican because of race or even social standing. Everyone has different issues that are important to them, and people need to vote for the candidate that they agree with on the issues important to them. When a race chooses to vote one way or another becasue their race always votes that way doesn't show individuality. Not every African American is the same, each person has different wants and needs, and different candidates may fit one person and not the other.

I put the wrong link up on accident. This is the right one. There is also a little political quiz that will match you to a political candidate with similar views.

  • Go to their rallies, write them letters and ask them questions. When they skirt the issues, be sure you let the world know that they are not being direct or are being wishy washy. Good for you for trying to get others to vote and become involved! I wouldn't say that just about African Americans -- everyone needs to stop being loyal to a party start being loyal to their Country and its laws. Then you can pick the candidate that best fits your ideals and ultimately the world will be a better place. It's really hard to please everyone all the time and it's really hard to fool everyone all the time.

Thank you and good luck. Oh, and maybe if you listen carefully to all the candidates, you will hear what they aren't saying out loud by the way they couch their statements.

I think it is great that you are using your time to make others aware and to encourage others to vote. As time goes by you will hear more and more from the candidates, and you will be updating your information constantly. So give it a little more time and you will get the information that you will need.

    Good luck.
