If the PDF form of a fantasy novel costs 1/4 the price of the paperback version, which would you buy?

Update:

The postage for a paperback costs more than the book, by the way!

Paperback. Reading on a computer screen gets very old after a while, not to mention that most people read about 4 times slower off of a monitor than from a book. And printing out the .pdf would not be very practical either.

The problem with a .pdf file is you can only read it on your computer. I would rather have an .htm copy I can put on my Rocket reader. That allows me to take it to bed, to lunch, or anywhere. I can even read it without turning on any lights and with larger print than a paperback.

I might buy a .pdf copy, but I would definitely buy the .htm file instead of the paperback.

Paperback, i've read a few books on the computer, it's not very comfortable, and hurts the eyes after a while.

Paperback. I can't read fiction on a computer screen, it's not comfortable. I'm like anon, I want to be found in my house full of books!

paperback definitely. hardback if i could get it. i hope to be an old woman who's found dead in a house with wall to wall to ceiling bookshelves overflowing onto every surface of the house with 6+ foot unsteady book stacks everywhere threatening to avalanche should someone come too close.. it should be difficult to get from one room to the other for all the books lining the makeshift bookshelves!

i am afraid i will never make the shift over to electronic printed media. i want to hold what i'm reading and feel the paper.

I'd still buy the paperback. I want to be able to take a book to read wherever I want, not be confined to staring at a computer screen and getting eyestrain.

paperback of course. like i've stated before you can't "curl up"

with a good book on your pc or laptop.
