Im feeling soooo Blue, what can I do?
I just lost my cat to a stroke, we had her put down on Monday. Anyways to feel better, when will this end. Im looking into adopting two kittens to fill the void, problem is I have to wait a few weeks because domestic cats dont breed during the winter. Any ideas on how long this wll last.

I feel for you sweetie. I had to put my cat down after having her for 17 years. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Just keep those memories close to your heart and be thankful you had those wonderful years with her. Getting another cat to fill the void isn't the answer, it seems so hard to find the perfect cat to replace the one you lost. Give yourself some time and maybe consider adopting an older cat that needs a good home. I finally found the cat of my dreams when I adopted an older cat...he is the light of my life. Good-luck and hope you feel brighter soon.

I would actully suggest not getting two kittens, it will only bring back memories of when your cat was cute and a little kitten, I suggest you get a new pet if you feel there is a void of pet, try gerbils, yes I know your like "Eww there rodents, but there are ADORABLE and they are great thereapy, once you have lost a pet, they each have there own personalities, and do some of the craziest things. But since you just put your cat down, give youself a couple of months, you get through it, it is very sad, but remember, you made you cats life wonderful, and meaningful, because obviously you loved her very much. It will pass...I am sorry for you loss.

Well, I'd say just do what you can to get your mind off it for now. In time, you can think about things without getting too upset, but just deal with a little at a time right now. Don't get bogged down in your grief.
As far as a new kitten, or pet in general, I wouldn't recommend it. When it's the right time for another pet, things tend to fall in place--it's like the pet comes to you. Well, sometimes, it LITERALLY comes to you...but you know what I mean. Hold off on a replacement because while it's good to get your mind off the death, it's NOT good to totally avoid dealing with the grief, and it's not fair to the new pet that you're basically using it "on the rebound."
You should get a new pet because you want THAT pet, not because you're sad and you want to replace another pet. It's not fair to either of you.
Too bad about your cat. It can be really tough to deal with the death of a pet. For now, maybe try growing some flowers, working outside, crafts, hobbies...something non-cat related to fill up some time and keep your mind occupied.
