do pro-lifers really know about abortions and fetal development?
or do they spew utter lies and outdated info?
here's the facts on abortions
the majority occur in the first 12 weeks.
the most common method of abortion is vacuum aspiration.
a fetus is not capable of feeling pain until the cerebral cortex and the thalamus are developed and the pain receptors are hooked to both parts . this doesn't occur till 20-26 weeks.
partial birth abortion is an incorrect term. the real term is called Intact D&X. this procedure is not performed on a conscious fetus. the fetus is either affected by anesthesia OR the fetus is given a shot to stop the heart.
abortion pics on the internet are either grossly mislabeled, fabricated OR they are of stillborns/miscarriages.
the heart does not start beating until 4 weeks, NOT 2 weeks.
as for The Silent Scream? that movie was debunked years ago. it's full of lies and propaganda. here's a site proving that.
another fact
late term abortion are RARE, meaning only 11.4% are performed past 12 weeks.
http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_induced_abortion...
late term abortions are ONLY performed if the fetus is fatally ill or the woman's life is on the line.
late term abortions are performed in three ways
D&E
intact D&X
Labor & Delivery

I am pro abortion only for one reason
Women have been doing it for centuries and will continue to it, no reason to do it in inhumane conditions or bring up a child to starve, or to be miserable
I do not agree with it myself, but I believe its the womans choice and controlled abortion is better than going to a butcher.
and yes I do have children and loved them since I found out I was pregnant but it isnt always this way

Abortion is a fact of life that cannot be argued on a black and white basis. I have no use for extremists on either side of the issue. I don't believe in pro-choice. It is a license to indiscriminately use a medical procedure as a means of convenience. If women (and men) are not ready for parenthood,or don't want the responsibility, then there are many contraceptive methods that are available to either partner, in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies, and after that, there are adoption agencies who will gladly place a child with a family that truly wants children. I don't give a damn how pro-choice spinners rationalize their agendas. Who gave them the right to declare an unborn child of no consequence until the child reaches a certain development stage in the womb. As soon as a child is conceived, and starts to grow, the child is considered a human being.
As for pro-life advocates, they can take flying you-know-what as well. No abortion under any circumstances? With the medical advancements in this day and age, doctors have the means to diagnose a problem pregnancy, and can recommend an early termination to the pregnancy, in order to a prevent a traumatic experience of a miscarriage later in the pregnancy, not to mention the risk of delivery to both child and mother. How about a young teenager, who has neither the psychological maturity, or awareness to realize what being a young mother is going to demand of her, and possibly not physically mature enough to carry a child successfully to term. The term of "children having children" is a stark reality. Then there are rape victims, traumatized mentally and physically by a despicable act, who may not be able to deal with a pregnancy that occurred under such a violent circumstance.
It's a medical procedure,as with any other part of medicine, to be used on a case by case basis, by competent, medical doctors, who are responsible for the health of their patients.
Women do not have the unilateral right to choose, when they have no reason, other than they don't want a child. The father has a right also, since an abortion destroys part of him has well. However, if men are going to insist a child be carried to term, then they better be prepared to walk the walk, because, as said, it is part of him as well. A woman who agrees to carry the child better get the support from the father, including financial support, right from the time she has to leave her employment. It's not a path a woman should have to walk by herself.

I have always believed it better to prevent unwanted pregnancy than to abort.
But, who am I to tell another person they have to live with something that will be a tremendous burden on their life.
I know some women who should be sterilized so they CAN'T have children but they have six or more. Go figure?
It is still a human embryo and if nothing is done to interfere with it, it will be a human being one day.
Even before I was old enough to understand all this I knew it was a sad thing if a woman lost a baby before it could be born.
I much prefer prevention, but your point about the seperation of church and state is well made.
Even so, there are atheists who oppose abortion.!!

Here are some more facts:
The fact that the heart starts to beat at 4 weeks just proves that it is indeed killing a human being, rather than aborting a fetus. A beating heart cannot beat if the body is not alive.
While most abortions may be performed at 12 weeks, many, many more are performed much later on - such as at 6 or 7 months. Don't believe me? It's a well-known, documented fact.
You say the babies don't feel the pain? Ever hear of the movie "Silent Scream"? A disc jockey on the radio here said a couple weeks ago that he saw an abortion on video when he was in high school. He said the baby was before 12 weeks and the abortion was pretty gruesome. He said that they baby was actually seen trying to get away from the instruments used to kill it. You say they can't feel pain? Many people say unconscious people can't hear. There is proof that people DO hear many times while unconscious. Do you have memories of being a fetus? If not, then you can't really say with 100% documented certainty that they don't feel pain, no matter what "evidence" suggests otherwise. Sorry, but this argument doesn't fly with this pro-lifer.
The problem with what you are saying in your question is that you are attacking pro-lifers for wanting to protect an innocent life and you are saying that WE are lying. Fact is, those who make a profit in the abortion business are going to sugar-coat and minimize what actually takes place in order to make it not seem so bad. It IS bad. It is the brutal and barbaric taking of a life of an innocent child. It would be far more humane to inject something into the child to stop its heart and then induce labor, than to suck it out, piece by piece or whatever other methods are used.
Abortion is an ugly thing. It is not something that is easy for the woman/girl getting the abortion. It doesn't just affect the baby. It affects the mother, the father, and anyone else who would have loved that child. Many times the mother who has an abortion has to go through counseling to help her cope with the pain of what she went through. For many choosing abortion, it is an agonizing choice. These people do not deserve judgment or condemnation. But they do deserve to be told the truth - not have it minimized to ease their conscience.
Source(s): P.S. - As for Chevella70's comment about religion, who said anything about religion? Religion has nothing to do with this. It is killing - plain and simple. We can leave religion out of this. - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

sadly the only way to get people to believe them is to lie. Too many people just listen to what they are told instead of taking the time to educate themselves.
I want to add that while driving on Interstate 95 (major on my side of the US) a truck passed us with a huge picture of a full term baby cut into pieces saying this was the face of abortion in America. My children were 4 and 5 and seen the picture and began to cry. This is the kind of lies I'm talking about.

All these anti-choice people allow their religion to dictate their thoughts. Whether one thinks it's right or wrong, separation of church and state is still in the Constitution. So, they should keep their religion out of everyone's government!

This is idiotic. The argument has only one question that needs answering: is there a potential for a human life? If yes, then it is murder. If not, then it is not.
There is NO other legal, ethical, moral, or religious way of answering the question.

I know my child is dead and that's the only fact I need to know. Do you have children? Maybe I could just stop by one day and kill one so you know how it feels. It shouldn't bother you because you seem to believe that life isn't important anyway.
