I want to take out a shared folder but the folder no longer exist at its assumed location?

OK, I used to have a folder that is shared on the network at location E:\foldername. This used to be the location on my external hard drive. Now I installed a DVD burner and an extra internal hard drive, and now the External shows up as G:\foldername but the shared folder still points to E:\foldernmae on windows.

How can I make it point to my G drive, or else how can I completely remove it from the list of shared folders.

I'm looking at my shared folders from MyComputer (right click) > Manage > Shared Folders > Shares

From that managed location, change the drive letter assignments back to where they were for the External Drive.

Manuever down to the Disk Management section and right mouse click on the affected drives and choose Change Drive Letter!

Forget the wizards. They are not flexible. You should never alter any resource with shares present. MS OS doesn't like it. Go to control panel/administrative tools/computer management/logical drive manager. Re-assign the drive letter of the drive currently E: to something else (ignore any error messages). Then change the external drive to E: again and apply this. Go to the current E: drive in my computer. Right click it and turn off sharing. You can then re-assign the drive letters. Go to the external, re-share the folder and you should be back to normal.

Just right click "my computer" on desktop--->click disconnect network drives
