I got a haircut and it's really uneven...?

should I go back and ask them to even out the layers? More hair is going to have to be cut off. (Making it even shorter) I don't know what to do What would you do?

I would think to myself if I want THAT person to re cut my hair. I would say no. I would however call the manager of the salon and talk to them about that. They should offer another stylist that you are comfortable with for no charge. Explain to them you really don't want to be shorter but this is not cool. I am so sorry this happened to you. As a professional I am embarrassed for that stylist if it really is really as bad as you say.

I would NEVER recommend a person cutting themselves. Especially layers. They are very hard to learn using the correct angles. I would recommend going back to the salon and talking to the manager. Call first. But DO NOT go to the same stylist. She couldnt do it right the first time. I owned a solon for 9 yrs and I wouldnt let the client be recut by the same stylist. Unless it was one of their regular clients. (I'm Stay at home mom now) Next time ask a friend, co worker, someone you see at the store who cut there hair. This is the best way to find a great stylist. Referrals are the best. If you must walk into a place, hopefully you can see the stylist cut, watch but dont stare and see how they are cutting. You can tell if they are a flop. If so then leave. Good luck!

you could be really brave and try to cut it yourself. Don`t freak out though. Okay try this. Look where ever those really short layers are that you hate, and then grab the closest strands of hair underneath that layer. Just take your scissors (on wet hair) and take on enough to make it look even. But remember on wet hair, the hair will shrink after it dries, so cut about 1/2 of what you actually want. From there just to sorta make it look more blended, take the tip of you scissors and make longer layers underneath look like they slowly go shorter as they go up. Justtake tiny bits and pieces off. Dont rush and it should work out.

If it is not what you wanted go right back do not waist time either they will deny it was their work. Go back tell them you were not happy talk to a manager and get it fixed honey do not pay for what you do not want and also I know it sucks you will have to go shorter but better to have a good cut then uneven hair. It will grow back in no time.

I think you shouldnt write off the stylist. If walmart sold you a bad product, would you never shop there again? People make mistakes, and Im sure it isnt too bad. It probably feels that way, but should be corrected pretty easy. The stylist wont mind fixing it, but will suffer embarassment if you see another stylist for a simple mistake. This could be the first time shes made a mistake as well. Oh well, Im sure my opinion means nothing since im for the hairdresser rather than against. Im shocked all these other hairdressers are so against giving her the oppurtunity to correct her mistake as well. Im sure theyve messed up before, and if they say they havent they are full of crap.

Go back and tell them you are not satisfied and ask them to even it out. Granted they will have to cut off a little more hair but the hair will grow back. Don't accept a haircut that is going to detract from your appearance.

I am a stylist and I recommend that you go back and get it fixed by the same salon that you got it cut at..... if you don't want the same stylist ask for the manager or owner to do it.... they should be happy to help make you happy by fixing the mistake made by their salon.

    Go back.

My hairdresser always tells me if I want changes done to come back in the few days following.

You paid the money, its not your fault that they messed up. They need to fix their mistake.
