My mother was in the Navy during WWII. She saw part of a group of women trained to fly planes for delivery to different locations. She loved it!

What women had any roles in it, did civilian jobs- such as airplane assembly. My Grandma worked on the antennaes, at one airline. I don't think it matters, which one. But she once told me, she did that.

google "Rosie the riveter," WACs (Women's Air Corps) and WAVEs. If you want to add some spice, add "victory girls" to the list.
