We are still left with W's wars, corporate giveaways, recession and "Patriot" act. So why is it forbidden to talk about the originator of those debacles? Especially when cons have NEVER subscribed to the same expiration limits?

Are not many of W's abuses still in place? Have all the problems of W suddenly disappeared? No. We're still dealing with the entire mess; it didn't magically vanish.

We still hear complaints about Clinton (not my favorite, nor do I defend him, so skip the false reductionism), and con-jobs still blamed everything on him right up until W was sent packing (and occasionally since).

How can we a a nation move past W's abuses when so many of you still refuse to even admit to them? Instead, we get the 'dictator' spin-job (which suggests an inability to critique the current prez in a fact-based manner), when W was far indisputably closer to a dictator than Obama.

The Right's failure to honestly address W's abuses suggests you merely want to resume them. Your dishonest agitprop also seems to confirm this. Are you deliberately watering down the use of the word 'dictator' because that's what you want, someone more anti-freedom than W?

The worst I've seen is that he has continued many of W's policies - yet the same people calling him a dictator have yet to own up to any of W's abuses.

Under W we had election fraud, repeals of civil liberties, government-sponsored terrorism, fraudulent wars, private companies obtaining official governmental powers (a hallmark of fascism, incidentally), intolerance for dissent, and a whole host of abuses. Not so nowadays - conservatives are free to libel and slander anyone not part of their jihad.

So conservatives - is there any evidence? or are you merely going the Goebbels route, hoping to repeat a lie so often that it is taken as truth?

Do not incidents like this demonstrate a serious core problem with even the desire to inflict a Christian world-view upon everyone?

Individuals can and should believe what they want. But when institutions form to push a set of beliefs onto others, isn't this inevitable?

when the the golden age of 'morality?' When African-Americans were 'separate but equal' and lynchings were common? When poor people and non-white people could be hauled off and sterilized? When slavery was legal? When crime was far more rampant than today in the late 1800s and 1930s? When corporations had no responsibility to address workers' safety, nor obligation to compensate families when workers died because of owners' negligence? When men were free to commit any act of domestic violence, and the wife was blamed if she spoke up? When rape was seen as the woman's fault? When it was okay to use racial slurs? When it was okay to pay people less based solely on the tone of their skin?

Or does the illusionary 'golden age' so many of you refer to only exist on Little House on the Prairie and Leave it to Beaver?

when you add up the number of times your god has smited innocent people (whether among the "wicked" or not), can you understand why we cannot accept assertions of such a "benevolent" being?

We are all also waiting for a credible explanation for the transition to the NT; a god who becomes a daddy alone does not seem to be enough grounds to atone for past genocides for those not pre-inclined to sweep it all under the carpet.

Some Christians say that various OT quotations no longer apply; yet others do.

Some Christians seem to disagree with others about what parts of the OT count, and which do not.

So how can non-Christians be criticized over and over again for pointing out what some say is a 100% "true," "infallable" book, and how can some parts be more infallable than another?

No disrepsect is intended. I simply see this pattern arising time and again with no clear distinction being made, even within Christianity.
