Question Concerning Gun Laws?
In light of recent national incidents, do you feel safe with the current gunlaws? Or should they step up the restrictions?
Personally, I believe a criminal will not care how many gun laws are put in their way. If they want a gun, they will find a way to get it.
I am speaking of the laws in the U.S. primarily, but any country matters. I understand the U.K. has some pretty strict gun laws. But are they any safer over the pond from the U.S. ?

I do not know what country you are talking about, but if it is the USA, then there are already too many gun laws.
The 2nd amendment to the US Constitution says that no gun laws are constitutional, therefor all gun restriction laws are unconstitutional.

1. A criminal can get a gun, but not all shootings are done by criminals (such as this current case). What about those who acted on impulse? If guns are harder to get (yes they eventually can get one if really determined), it might just give them enough time to cool down a bit.
2. True, gun control isn't a cure all. A person can still get a gun if he really wants to. But if the PROBABILITY of mass shooting decreases with stricter gun control, why not?
3. Does owning a gun really make you safer? Does the benefit outweighs the risk? Like those against gun laws love to say, "if they really wanna kill, they can do it with or without a gun" Right, it also doesn't matter if you have a gun or not.
4. True, if a person wants to kill, he can kill with a knife or whatever. But try killing 30 with a knife in a morning. Guns are simply too powerful for individuals to handle freely.
5. On the otherhand, does a loose gun control make US more democratic? If Bush turns into a tyrant, is there a chance to rebel with your .22 pistols. It's not colonial time anymore. It's good for mass killing of students, and not good enough to defend yourself.

Gun laws will create a BLACK MARKET.
Drugs are illegal. Anyone who chooses can go out on the street and buy drugs.
The same would be and is, with guns.
The law of registering guns that are purchased, helps to solve crimes.
Guns don't kill people.
People kill people, with guns, knives, poison, home made bombs, chainsaws, hammers and even with a ball bat, etc. etc. etc. If their intention to kill some one they will find a way, make no mistake about it.
Americans have the right to bear arms, to defend themselves.
If someone would have had a gun in Virginia yesterday, maybe so many people would NOT have been killed.
The Trolley Square incident in Salt Lake City, Utah would have been much worse, if an off duty officer had not been there with his concealed weapon.
No . . . . . guns don't kill people. People kill people, no matter how they have to do it.
BLACK MARKETING GUNS IS BIGGER BUSINESS THAN DRUG TRAFFICKING.
I agree with you. If they want a gun, they can easily find one with out buying a legally registered gun.
Thanks for the question. It gave me a chance to share my belief.
By the way, someone I know personally, has a concealed weapons permit. When I'm with that person I feel much safer.

you are right by saying that a criminal will not care how many gun laws are put in their way but it will make it hard for them to get them... and maybe some of them won't... but a assure you that teenagers will not be able to buy them like they can right now... or take their fathers...

Gun laws only restrict law abiding people. Criminals don't care about laws. As simple as this is, it is amazing that the anti-gun lobby is still going at it.

restrictions will only make the problem worse. it is the people that buy guns illegally that commit crimes with the guns. take away gun rights snd the only people left with guns are the crimanals

You have said it perfectly, No matter the law bad people who don't follow it will always get what they want. It is, unfortunately, the good people who suffer the most out of it.
