Is anyone else sick of poeple comparing politicians they dissagree with...?
....liberal or conservitive to Hitler?
Stony...I am not a nazi. My point (and that fact that you didn't realize it is sad) was that Hitler was the most evil man in the past 75years (if not he's in the top three) and comparing someone who's policies you don't like to Hitler is silly.

It's not fair to Hitler to be compared to Bush. He was evil but not that stupid.

Sometimes the comparison is apt.
When a leader uses the "big lie" approach and propagandizes through media owned and operated by his/her supporters, he/she can be compared to the Nazis. When a leader argues for forcible confinement or the restriction of the rights of specific minorities it is also fair.
The sad fact is that the United States has become very Germanic in its attitudes and behaviour. We have become that which we once fought against.
The use of Hitler can be tiresome when other analogies might be more apt, but expecting the average publicly educated American to know squat about history seems to be pointless. If there hasn't been a miniseries about it on HBO most of us are butt ignorant.
As for the previous answer that felt Hitler was demeaned by comparison to Bush, I suggest you get help. Bush is an ideologue and a fool, but he has not approached Hitler for downright evil. Further, to suggest Adolf was smarter than George W. denies the evidence of history.
However, the analogy holds good in this respect: both were put in power by established corporate interests who felt that they would be "good for business". That says more about the evils of corporate boards than it does about either of the men involved.

Whenever you hear of someone comparing another to Hitler, they are most likely dumb as a rock, or just some still-to-be educated college kid. These are the people who compare every war to Vietnam, when in fact they couldn't tell you any real details from that conflict, and probably would be surprised to know we never lost a military battle there. We just got tired and left.
Sometimes, I think: "Let them compare Bush to Hitler" at their own self-embarrassment. Hitler took an entire country out of dismal poverty and came very close to conquering all of Europe. He was also a mesmerizing speaker who had an amazing ability to convince people that he was right.
I don't know how Bush's detractor's reconcile this with Bush's actual abilities; perhaps they have a much higher opinion of him than they are willing to divulge...... or more likely, they are just some dumb college kids who don't know any better.

Yes. It is the height of stupidity to compare anybody to Hitler the way it is done so much here.
Just like the stupid and bogus "14 Points" of fascism that are so vague that it is evident to anybody capable of critical thought that these points are distortions of fact and deliberately created simply to call Bush a fascist. And it requires a very big stretch to even fit any of the points to the Bush adminstration. Yet, fools latch onto this as if it is truth from on high. Sad, really.

i cant understand why we positioned up with this lesson found out rubbish. the domicile place of work have been saying it 5 situations a 12 months for as some years now. and are nonetheless making precisely the same blunders. if the persons of england might basically get professional lively, we could positioned a supply as much as all of their lies and dishonesty.....stupid people shouldn't carry down good jobs, enormously while peoples lives are in possibility. the quicker new labour bypass the extra valuable. hassle is!! the different 2 events will basically furnish a super number of the same.

Yes I am too but it is done from all parties as a way to deface their opponent.. It's sad that it has gotten to this, how bout we listen to what each and everyone stands for rather then making a media spectacle out of everyone? I blame the media.... and the ratings.. Anything goes in the media to sell their station or papers, whether it is correct or not.. The media is VERY irresponsible...

People use Hitler when comparing politicians because they know of Hitler and his horrendous policies. They know he was a tyrant. It's kinda like comparing politicians to a**holes. Everyone knows what you mean when the term is used.

Yes, I think you are correct. I am a lib, but Bush is nothing like Hitler. Saddam was closer to Hitler than Bush is. I mean, people over-simplify on everything on this site. KKK votes Republican, that means you must be in the kkk to be Republican. Clinton got fellatio during his presidency, you must support adultry if you are a Democrat. I hate that immature crap.

It's called hyperbole and it's very effective in rousing the rabble. You're spitting into the wind, my friend.
