Ebay shipping and customs?
I am about to purchase a US $ 500 item through a buy it now thingie on Ebay and I was just wondering how customs fees apply to this?
Do I pay this to the seller? Or what? I'm not sure how this works.
Also, it will go through UPS expedited, if its shipping from Albany, NY to Calgary, Alberta would anyone know roughly how many days it will take?
The item is a camera.
Thanks.
Also, I am paying through Paypal and are there any extra fees on paypal aside from the final price + shipping? Does paypal have "brokerage fees" or anything like that?
Many Thanks.

Unfortunately for the shipping time you could get it in less than a week or it could take a month or longer just depends on how long customs hold on to your item. The fees will all be in the final cost when you pay for it. I have been selling on EBay for a year now, and I have really only had one item hung up in Canadian customs (6 weeks) doesn't happen to often but it can. the additional fees you are seeing could be from the seller some sellers add extra fees to ship outside of their country

You only pay what the buy it now is and what the shipping is theres no tax unless you live in the same state as the buyer, also out of U.S. items thertes no such thing as cutoms fees because I just bought some stuff from Hong Kong. You pay only what shows up on paypal.

Ask the seller to mark the item as a gift....that way you'll not have to pay customs duty. UPS expedited should get there in 2 days maybe. You definately do not pay the seller any custom fees.....custom fees, if any, will be charged to you in Canada when your package gets there.....Like I said, if its sent as a gift then there shouldn't be any custom fees. Paypal only charges fees to the seller and not to the buyer.
