Has anyone ever had a Tubal Ligation Reversal or?

Do you know someone who has? I had my tubes tied when I was 21, I figured I had my two children and I didn't want anymore. Now I am married and would love to have a child with my husband (I am now 31). I have been doing some research online and the success rate seems to be pretty good in women under 40.

I would like to get some advice from women that have had the surgery, or if you know anyone who has had the surgery.

What was the outcome?

Also if you know of any good doctors in the Bay Area you could reffer me to. Any help will be Greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I just went through the procedure ( Feb 22) - I am now pregnant, but having problems with my hcg levels - doctor says nothing to do with the surgery - If I could suggest - DON'T SNEEZE For at least 2 weeks! Ouch! Wait at least 90 days after surgery to try to concieve - tubal pregnancy is slightly higher after this surgery. Why concern yourself like we did - now we wonder if my tubes were still swollen. Recovery was good - felt tender for about 1-2 weeks - but now I feel great. (its only been 8 weeks!)

I recommend that you and your husband do it! We have 4 kids from previous marriages - but one together is our dream.

    Good Luck!

My Sis-in-law had a similar problem. She went through a procedure down in North Carolina to have a reversal done (there were two places they considered, North Carolina and Louisville, KY - apparently the doctors there are the best - I don't know the doctor's name - sorry!). She healed from the surgery after the reversal (I think that surgery was several thousand dollars) then she had to go through tests to see if she could conceive. It turned out that the tubes had blocked with scar tissue. So they cleared them of that with another surgery. But even after that, they tubes blocked back up again. So they decided to go through IVF and now they have twin boys. :) But it was expensive, long and painful.

Consider adopting a baby if you can. There are so many that need a loving home.

    Good luck! :)

My mom had a tubal reversal when she was about 35. She went through In vetro fertilization and was on clomid. She had two miscarriages and then decided just to go on the clomid and try the old fashioned way. And she ended up getting pregnant with twins. Who are now 9 and healthy. Then about 4 years later she got pregnant again with my little sister the old fashioned way. So there is hope. I know one doctor had told her that she would never get pregnant.

I was 23 years old when I had a tuba ligation, cut, burned and all. At 30 years old I became pregnant, and I don't know how this happened. I was told that 1 out of 1000 women would get pregnant from this procedure. I guess I was that one. My sister had this procedure done as well, but she had complications. I guess it depends on the individual.

Tubal ligation reversal surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

    Hope this helps.

If you and your husband feel the need to coparent have you considered adoption of an older child? I know for sure babies are cute but I would NEVER have wanted to go back once the last child hit school age. I was FREE!
