I dont know exactly but i know its a disease that eats away at your flesh. I heard that back in the old days when someone got it they got standed on a desert island

Leprosy is a chronic infectious desease. There can be permanent damage to the skin, nerves, limbs and eyes.
Aside from humans, other creatures that are known to be susceptible to leprosy include the armadillo, mangabey monkeys, rabbits, and mice (on their footpads).
Worldwide, 1-2 million persons are permanently disabled as a result of the disease. However, persons receiving antibiotic treatment or having completed treatment are considered free of active infection.

look it up on google. find books, do research. I would not believe whatever people tell you on here - some is truth some is not....
