Car Audio Opinions?

Just got a new o7 honda accord 2 dr, want to take the system out. I think best buy is giving me a rook job with the pricing, but to do my car its 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. I'm looking at 2 way Infiniti's in my doors with components, 3 way Infiniti's in the rear, an alpine 400 watt mono amp and a 12" kenwood sub with a box. Total including installation, wiring and taxes come out to $1150. I've been told many things by many people, like pioneers are good w/o a woofer because those speakers have more base than infiniti's but if i'm getting a woofer(s) i can use crisper cleaner treble, which is infiniti. Can anyone lead me in the right direction as for reccomendations, by brand or whatever else, and although i'm not looking to be snoop dogg or enter any bass competitions, I want quality sound done right the first time, so would anyone reccomend 2 woofers instead of one.....any opinions?

I used to really compete in the car audio world back in 03 so I think I know a little bit in the subject. So, first of all, if you want good clean sound, then less is definitely more. Car audio has a lot to do with good point sourcing and imaging, and the tried and tested formula for this is to get as few speakers as possible to give you the sound of the whole spectrum. Having a good 3 way component set at the front (midrange, midbass, tweeter), would give you a good starting point. Round that with good 5 1/4 inch to 6 1/2 coaxials for rear fill and you pretty much have everything covered. Now for bass, a 10 or 12" subwoofer would do if you aren't a basshead. Amplification: it is really recomended to power each of your components separately, meaning, power the sub, midbass, midrange and highs separately and use an active crossover to filter your frequencies. If you are on a budget though, a good 4 channel amp plus a mono sub amp would do. Well, that's all I can really tell you, if you need to know more you can always try and contact me. Hope I was of some help.

If your looking for a great sound. Get MTX Tweeters, Use the Infinity 2way or 3 way in front, get MTX mids for the rear. Use Rockford 6x9's (if you want them) in box. If you plan on getting some hits from your sub(s), get a 12" Rockford(if getting 1 sub). or get two 10" Rockford (Same box connection is typical, but I like 2 separate boxes for putting on both sides of trunk.) Do not buy Alpine amp, because there RMS is lowwer than it really says. Buy a 400 Watt 2 channel Rockford (if your NOT getting 6x9's)... Should have a 225-250 RMS, Bridge the amp to make it a MONO.

With this Set up, your car should not cost too much. But you would also want a 4.0 Farad Capacitor to help with the power dim.

I recommend using a 4 gauge wiring harness for amp (with a 100A AGU fuse, it shouldnt ever blow or pop) 8 gauge speaker wires.

first of all i would highly advise you to not have best buy install anything. everyone that i know that has gotten anything done there was messed up and had to be redone. if possible go to an actual car audio shop, they actually know what there doing because theyve been trained. it may cost you a few more dollars than what best buy has estimated but its worth it knowing that everythings done right. you can buy your stuff where ever you find it cheapest and then give it to them to install. if your going with infinitis for the components then id say go with them for the subs also. i cant complain on anything infiniti makes its all good quality. also i find that using the same brand all around makes for better sound quality. one or two subs all depends on your preferenses. if you just want a little bass then just go with one, if your listening to hip hop then id say 2. but it also depends on what wattage you goin with. if your goin with low wattage like under 1000 then just go with one.

dont go to best buy go to a car audio shop if u want a pro install. u can talk them down on price unlike bb. even better is if u have a friend that can do it. if u can go that way shop online, u can get infinity kappa in front and rear, a 4channel amp, a headunit, and sub/amp for around $1000. go with the infinity speakers, and since u want quality get polk for ur sub, they are known for quality sound. go with some1 like mtx for ur amp or amps if u get a 4ch. if u shop ebay ur even better and can save a lot more

nicely stated. via my realm of shopping for & promoting subs i have owned an L7 and ought to accept as true with you. large SPL, yet sounded sloppy. Granted, it ought to've been the enclosure I had for it or the ambience the sub replaced into in. so a techniques as i'm in touch, the L5 sounded somewhat extra effectual to me ... their CVR's sounded extra effectual then both one in each of them to me. yet what i'm getting at is ... if it sounds sturdy to you, it truly is all that concerns. no favor to make infantile accusations. If it truly is time to bypass away mad, it truly is time to easily bypass away.
