How can I move files from my "C"drive to my "F" drive(flash drive)-not just copy them?

I am able to drag and drop files from the C drive to the F drive but the file remains on the C drive as well as being copied to the F drive. I bought the flash drive to make room on my C drive. Can any one help me please--Thanks!

Many of the above ways will work, but they aren't the first I would think of. One almost had it though. Just select the files, but then instead of left-click dragging them to F, drag with the right mouse button. When you let go, it will let you choose move instead of copy.

If there are some system files in the C drive you can't just move it. If you have problems with regular files use DOS in the command mode. Be careful not to eliminate important files because DOS will override Windows. The logical thing to do is from the drive C:.. C:Copy *.* F:/v

Where F is the Flash drive letter and /v is to verify that was done correctly. Is the switch /v does not work (depend in your version) just eliminate the switch and do it without.

Later delete the ones you need no more using windows or the DOS command DEL anyone.xxx

highlight the file right click and select cut from the menu. this cut the file from c drive not copy, or highlight the file press ctrl and x, this means cut too it is the hot key for cutting the file.

highlight the F drive right click choose paste from the menu or highligth the F drive and press ctrl v this means paste, it is the hot key for paste. or you can go open F drive and do the paste. all i mention do not have differences they work the same except you want to see the content of F drive before you paste your file then you have open your F drive first.

Highlight the files you want to move. Then right click any file and choose, "move". Then drag the files to your "F" drive.

    you have two options:---

1>delete the files manually after you have draged and droped to your flash drive..

    Or

2>dont drag and drop...but.... use Cut..and then paste option ...while transfering...
