Yes, I've read the novel. I just cannot remember if he and Georgiana's parents are still living, and if they aren't, does that make her his ward?

His parents are dead, that is the reason he is his sister's guardian. Have you read any of the sequels to the book, Elizabeth Aston, Helen Halstead, and Diana Birchall do great work continuing the story.

Darcy's father died before the book begins, but when Darcy is an adult. I don't remember his mother ever being mentioned.

They are both dead, and yes, I believe as he is an adult, he has been able to assume the role of her ward.
