We will be driving thru and spending 2 days in Montana this July. What are some "don't miss sights" that we should see? I will be traveling with 4 children aged 17 - 6.

Yellowstone is always good, that's more in Wyoming than Montana though. Glacier National Park is also astounding, but that's up in the Northern part of the state.
If you want something fun for the kids, try taking them to the sapphire mines at Gem Mountain, near Anaconda. They'll sell you a bucket of dirt from the mine, and show you how to sift through it - you get to keep what you find. It's something like $10 a bucket. They'll even appraise what you find for you. It's a lot of fun, and every bucket has a good number of tiny sapphires in it - all colors.
