my son is allergic to the sun?

He's 3..he breaks out in hives. Is there anything I can apply to his skin so he can be outside?

Update:

it's only when he's out in the sun. I was told it was probably sun poisoning.

I'm allergic to the sun as well. My dermatologist suggested I cover up as much as possible obviously. But I'm a total outdoorsy person, so I'm to wear a sunscreen that contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide for true sun coverage. I will tell you though, I believe it's the titanium dioxide, but as much as you rub even a small amount of it, it will leave the skin very white. Since he's only 3, I would double check with a physician that those ingredients are appropriate for a child.

Are you sure it's not some pollen or something in the air or just every time you take him outside anywhere>

isolate him in the day and keep him up at night or well see a specialist
