I just went to Singapore/Bangkok and the cheapest fare is Air Asia (www.airasia.com) the price was around 5,000 baht cheaper than Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways

From Oakland your best best is Aloha Airlines. The cheapest days to fly are usually Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays. Early morning and late night flights are also best. The thing is, you are gonna pay at least $600.00 round trip because you really don't have any other choice but to fly and the airlines can get away with charging more than mainland state to state prices.
