Does anyone know how to make a worm shocker?
Does anyone know how to make a worm shocker or where to find the details to make one? A worm shocker is like an electrical rod that you put into the ground to "shock" the worms out so you can grab them and go fishing with them. I know it's a dangerous method but if anyone has information on how to make one i'd appreciate it.

The safest one is to use an old crank telephone generator. And attach 2 wires to it about 10 feet long , then use 2 thin metal rods about 4 feet long . Stick the rods in the ground about 6 feet apart and start cranking on the generator . The worms will come up.

get the ground good and wet then run an extension cord from the house to your worm spot. take a wire from a lamp or toaster or some other electrical appliance and separate the two strands along with the insulation for a foot or so. clip one of these off and then wrap electrical tape around the wire at the shortened section to insulate it. strip the insulation from the long end for about 6 - 8 inches and wrap the bare wire around a long screwdriver or something else long, metal with an insulated handle. stick it into the ground and plug it in to your extension cord. touch the ground a couple feet from where you stuck it. you should feel a tingle. if you don't, unplug it and turn the plug over and do it again. it will have to be one of the un-polarized plugs. when you feel the tingle, step back for a couple minutes and watch. pretty soon the li'l critters will come wriggling out of the ground as fast as their little tails can push them. don't let the dog come nosing up to see what's going on. he'll get a big surprise. this DOES work. quite well by the way.

Never heard of it... but i think a car battery and a steel rod would do the trick.
Myself, I like to leave the garden hose running for a while and then go back a couple hours later when they are all flooded out of their holes.
I caught my first steelhead of the season on a worm on a worm last weekend! 25 inch male, not bad...

Take the chain off of a chainsaw, start it up and stick it in the ground. Worms run to the top. Can't stand the vibration.

Take two metal rods, and an electrical cord. Cut the non-plus end off, put one wire on one rod, and the other on the other. Then put them in the ground and do it to it.
One method I found to do that is not as dangerous, take soapy water, and pour it into fertile ground. The soap irritates thier bodies and they will come up. Then pick them up and rince them off, put then in dirt and go fishing.

a good way to get worms is to use powdered laundry soap! Just sprinkle on yard and water then wait for worms just dont over do it cause it irritates the worms and to much can harm them! And make sure to rinse them off to stop the irritation!
