wedding vows?

Do you have a friend who's good at writing? My vows were written by my MOH who is a brilliant writer - and they were great. I would have never in a million years come up with anything like this. Writing is a skill not everyone possesses, there's no shame in asking for help.

Okay, this is how I'm doing things. I want to write my own vows, but I also want the traditional "I do's" so we are opening with sentimental messages to each other. For some reason this seems so much easier to write than actual vows. I'm quoting Marie de France in my message to my fiance. The quote goes like this, "The two of them resembled the honeysuckle which clings to the hazel branch: when it has wound itself round and attached itself to the hezel, the two can survive together: but if anyone should the attempt to separtate them, the hazel quickly dies, as does the honeysuckle. 'Sweet love, so it is with us: without me you cannot survive, nor I without you." It's a chance that I can use to tell him how much he means to me without the stress of figuring out all of the promises that I need to make to him. It also has a special meaning because it came from a book of stories that we had to read in a literature class that we took together. The second I read it I thought it sounded like something out of a wedding, and now it's a part of my ours. I plan on basing everything that I have to say around this quote. You may consider trying something like that. It may not be your style, but if so, I hope I helped a little! Good luck and congrats!

Ask for help. But start by vowing to do what you like most: be together, take walks, see movies, laugh, support each other. Leave out the sex talk and the vows you will never do. Writing your own vows should be done together and be fun.

I would start by writing your fiance a letter. In that letter tell them everything that they mean to you, the memories that you have, y u are so greatful for them, and most importantly y u want to spend the rest of your life with that person.

Think about all the little, goofy things about her you love. Think about the things she says and the little hand gestures she makes that you think are adorable. Use all that to define your love for her. You don't need to use it as a template but: "When you...............that's love. When you...... that's love." Something like that might work pretty well. Just think about those things.

It means you're not a writer. It doesn't mean anything about your feelings. I don't think I could ever write my own.
