What's the longest that you can be pregnant?
I have a cousin that swears that she was due Mar. 30, 07 and she is still pregnant. Is there anyone in history that has been overdue for this long? On top of that, she says the baby only weighs 4 lbs. What's going on?

She is lying, that's whats going on. Doctors won't allow a pregnancy to continue after 42 weeks. I think your question should be why is she lying about her due date? And at 4lbs, that is the normal weight for a 33-35 week baby..........

If that was her real due date, her doctor would have induced her by now. They dont let pregnancies go that long anymore, bc the placenta starts to deteriorate. My grandmother was close to a month late with my aunt...she almost died! The amniotic fluid was almost gone and the umbilical cord was very dry. Nowadays they wouldt risk it.
Some ppl get confused about the whole 40 week thing, they think 40 weeks is 10 months, but its not. Each month is around 4 weeks and 3 days long, those 3 days add up too! Also, the 40 weeks is counted from the first day of the last period, since the exact day of conception varies form woman to woman. There is no way your cousin is 10 months pregnant! No doctor would allow it, she must be confused!(pregnancy can do that to you ya know lol)

the longest a woman can go pregnant is 43 weeks.
test and ultrasounds will tell someone when they are due.
she might think she's due at a different time but that doesnt mean it's right. if she does any kind os drugs, drinks, or smokes the baby can very well be under weigh. she might think she's been pregnant forever and that is what happens when you get close to due i'am 38 weeks and feel like that lol

One can only ponder the possibilities. If she's really still pregnant and the baby is alive and not still-born, she's probably got the due date wrong. Usually a living baby will grow too large for the womb and its a lot safer to have it born earlier than later. So, theres a chance that she lost it but is in denial or wasn't pregnant in the first place. Is she too young to know better? Can you speak to her doctor? Does she need to see a psychiatrist? What does her mother say? Beats me.

then she wasn't due yet. there is no way that she is that overdue and the baby only weighs four pounds. i guess anything is possible, just doesn't sound right though. usually the doc will induce after two weeks. i was 42 weeks with my daughter before i had her.

She's lying or confused. Maybe she is going off the fact that she was supposed to be pregnant for 9 months instead of 40 weeks (10 months truthfully). 42 is about the longest that a dr will let you go.

My hubby was a month overdue. It's VERY VERY rare for a doctor to even let you do that. I guess they didn't figure out his due date very well or my mother in law didn't know her last period.
Anyways, my hubby turned out being 11lbs. But today they wouldn't do that at all. I know that for a fact. They usually induce you before or around 42 weeks.

No doctor will allow a pregnant woman to go over 42 weeks. If the baby is only 4lbs... there is a problem.

9 months, anything over 42 weeks they will induce because the baby will start to have bowel movements inside the sax and that could lead to some very dangerous conditions, and it could kill the baby during birth. if she is over 42 weeks and not induced yet, she needs to go to another doctor. very dangerous.

back in the day, when i was born (early 80's) they let my mom go 3 weeks overdue. but nowdays most docs won't let you go but like a week over. does she have a reason to lie about her due date?
