Christian vs. Atheist crime statistics?
Does anyone have webpage links, published material, books, which give the prision population religion statistics.
I use to have a couple, but seem to have lost them in the Great Computer Crash of 2007.

Here is one source. It is of course deeply flawed. Those in jail or prison are more apt to identify with religion becaise (a) it is often a place of conversion and (b) because formal activities in religious service and study often count as good works that helpt them get out earlier. There is advantage to saying you are religious when there is no advantage to saying you are atheist. So the results are not surprising. Almost no one says they are an atheist.

You will find lower crime rates among atheists. That isn't surprising - you will find the same results if you compare any group of converts against any group of non-converts. Converts (or de-converts) of any brand tend to be more introspective, more intelligent, and more capable of abstract thought (including a sense of consequences).

Ooohhh...what a great topic!
Can't help you, but wanted to comment. Make sure you weed out the jailhouse confessions before you get your final statistics.

The numbers are staggering. Based on population stats you would expect the numbers to represent the % of the population that is theistic or non-believer, but that not the case. Like 77% of the population is theistically inclined, then the crime stats should reflect that, butt hey don't. The theistically infected commit more crimes than the non believers overwhelmingly.

Most crimes go unnoticed and unreported. As a Christian, I hate to think how many Christians, real and fake, have blood on their hands, and continue to murder, steal, rape and destroy often in God's name. Most atheists are guilty too of many similar crimes.

Every war for two thousand years was fought because of God.
Hmmm, seems that's the problem....... wikipedia that should help you find the statistics.
