God's word says you have not because you ask not...so why don't you ask?
Mother, you and I must not be reading the same bible. I never said that God said ask for riches, but we are told to go boldly before the throne and make known our request for things like healing, ect but of course He wants to bless us too and meet our needs.

Good question! I think that is why things go wrong in our life becase we rely on ourselves and not God! When we rely on ourselves things become a total mess!

That's an interesting question. There are instructions for praying in the New Testament and they include asking for "daily bread" but not for abundance or comfort. And the New Testament also teaches that since people cannot know God's plan, they should ask only for guidance, grace and to glorify God, not for specific favors. This is a seeming contradiction with what the verse you quote implies. I will be looking forward to seeing the answers you get!
