Why do people always get cold and sleepy after eating?

I'm always cold anyway, I have started to notice that right after I'm done eating I'm extremly cold. Then after a while I get sleepy.

You are cold because more of your blood is going to your gastrointestinal tract. The blood helps facilitate digestion. Ever noticed that your face feels hot when you are flushed? That's another example of how blood can affect temperature.

You are sleepy because your blood sugar rises after you eat. Increased blood sugar means that your pancreas releases insulin. Because of the increase in insulin, tryptophan is shuttled to the brain out of the bloodstream. The tryptophan becomes serotonin, which makes you sleepy.

it is normal.whenever the belly recieves stuff to digest,it becomes occupied and concentratd in the process of digestion-the brain assists the digestive process by becoming somewhat inactive.that is the reason why all people feel a certain lethargy and dullness in brain /mental activity as soon as they have eaten something.it is also said that after eating the blood of the body rushes to absorb the new elements eaten so people feel cold after eatng.(pl dont imagine all the blood wud go to stomache and leave the other imp parts unattended-it is not like that)

besides the coldness and lethargy is only temporary;as soon as the digestion is over, the food releases energy and u begin to feel warm and energetic again.

the amt of lethargy, coldness and drowsiness can differ from person to person and time to time. sleepiness after eating is more in hot climate, coldness after eating is more in winters.u can prevent feeling excess cold by drinking hot water during and after meals and going for a pleasant walk

When you eat, blood rushes from the rest of your body to the stomache area to help digest the food. Thats why you get cold and sleepy.

Not everyone gets like this but it's a normal reaction. The reason is that your body is putting its energy into digestion. So, the rest of your body functions are taking a back seat...especially blood flow which is concentrating on your digestive tract.

all your body's energy is used into the digesting part. but i heard its not always the healthiest thing to do wen you jus get done eating
