A question for people still in high school.. regarding dating?
I graduated in 1995 and NO ONE in my school was openly gay.
By the time my cousin graduated in 2001, some kids in high school were coming out.
My question is this: In 2007, if a student identifies themselves as "gay", can they still be popular, or have they cut themselves off from the jocks, preps, and popular girls/guys?
Just wondering if the attitudes have evolved...

I knew 2 gay people at school one was very camp, but almost scared of what people thourght hewould say my personal life is not any of your buisness he was very funny at times but after abit was just not funny. he was not liked by many.
the other was very down to earth, one daysitting in class some of the lads who could easily intimidate others asked him in a joky way he openly said yes, he was not bothered about them they got on with him and did not disrespect him they through a couple of jokes now and again. but I would say if you know you are gay and proud tell them who you are dont be afraid they are no better than you, if they do not like you then their loss at least you can find out who your true friends are and you have been honest with yourself. I think it can be a different issue if you donot know or if you do not like yourself and are not ready to come out. you are what you are regardless of what others say, it is your life and you dont have to tell anyone if you dont want to some may only THINK they are gay and THOURGHTS are tough you will not know uless you try reactions are different in different places different people people are never the same

It depends more on the persons attitude and not their gender or love life......regardless you never really know how you can be treated because all it takes is one sarcastic comment to destory someones confidence.
