Are we acting right?

If you watched a cnn documentary on the status of Irag before George Bush announced the start on the current war, Iraqis were very happy people who even used to go to beaches etc. The status today is pathetic on the pretence that they are been libarated. In somalia is the same thing happening.

America is one country that did not sign the kiyoto treaty on global warming which has caused deaths to so many people. If the world was to go to America and remove Mr bush by force in the pretex of helping the world on global warming will peaple support this? Do we have to create agony to mankind just to achieve our selfish goals, does this make sense to anybody out there?

China is the greatest producer, but it still has a long way to go before it can do away with the Taiwan go-between and become a world super player. I live there so please trust me on that one.

The EU is the next likely world super player. America would be wise to join it while it still may be an option.

America is putting it all on the line now, that's my feeling. We are resorting to measures that are typical of any declining empire. It's a gamble, if you think about it.

Remember, don't underestimate the power and the tenacity of the United States, that would be a big mistake.

From my european point of view, the USA have changed from a country that supports freedom and stops the Russians to a country that overreacts and neither understands what it does wrong nor what needs to be changed.

The USA decline. Osama Bin Laden was not necessary for that, but he probably accelerated the process.

The other half of my european brain tells me that you are still a lot better than the Russians and the Chinese.

The people of the USA is gifted in two ways: you are ready to change things quickly if action is needed, and you don't accept limits without trying to overcome them.

Now, it's a matter of understanding WHAT needs to be changed.

    Maybe you start with:

    - human rights (for details, ask single, afro-american mothers with three jobs that live in a neighborhood with heavily armed gangs in Detroit)

    - environmental issues (I thought Al Gore had already told you...)

    - peacekeeping (there is always a better solution than what you are used to do in the last years)

You might find out that these three issues belong together: if you treat your own people right it will help with others. If you save fuel you don't need to send your young people to Iraq. And so forth...

Sadly - since Bush became president America has dictated and acted only in it's own selfish interest.

It is not just Iraq that is a problem. Before Bush Madeline Albright was talking regularly with North Korea and they were in the process of talks, about talks on peace and agreement to stop arming. Bush stopped the dialogue immediately he came to power and that led to Korea's getting a Nuke and trying to build IBMs!!!

Bush seems to seek war, war rather than jaw, jaw. Even when he does talk he rides rough shod over his allies.

America is loosing friends fast, making more and more enemies, the dollar is getting weaker and weaker and Russia, China and even the EU are in the wings ready to usurp the US position as the super power!

The EU, Russia and China probably have far more allies now than the US and the world is looking for leadership. Bush does not even know how to spell that word!

Yes America should surrender to the will of the of the world. They love us and would never do what is their best interests and in anyway harm the USA. Grow up.

If your saying that GWB is destructive and inhumane and cares about nothing in this country or any other, unless it is part of his agenda. Then I agree with you. No we don't have to create agony to mankind. That is, not unless our goals are selfish. You have answered your own questions.
