Being a good leader has nothing to do with gender! It only has to do with honesty, and integrity! *sm*

Scientific fact men while being developed in the womb, the body starts to detroy the bridge between the right and left side of the brain.
We are differnet for a reason, men think rationally(for the most part)
While woman think with both side of the brain, tend to be more emotional.
We are incomplete with out each other, this is why I believe in war men make better leaders, they can come to a decision faster not basing it on emotion.
One of histories greatest leaders was a woman in The Iron Lady, Margeret Thatcher, she was by far one of the best we have seen.
But to answer your question honestly I would have to say men are better leaders, this is not the politically correct answer but I dont give a damn.
Men are supposed to lead in live and not be a tyrant, we are supposed to protect and shield our wife and children from harm. We are phisically stronger and we are to provide for them as well.
We have our roles and we need to get back to how it is intended as the last 20 years in our history has been a joke, who really thinks our children are better off today than 20 years ago?

It depends on what you're leading. And the fem-nazis will rip me to shreds for this, but the fact is men and women are different and have different skills and there are just some things a woman is not meant to do and vise-versa. Now, I believe that with effort, both sexes can overcome, but not without work and dedication.
Women are more emotional than men, therefore men are more unfeeling than women. I believe, when discussing leadership, different areas would suffer under a woman's leadership than under a man's. I think when God made man and saw that he was alone, and saw that it wasn't good, and made woman. He saw that this was good and gave man and woman equality with different skills.
Perhaps, countries, clubs, states, schools, whatever, should take a page from God's book and appoint two leaders to rule over different areas -- Male and Female.

Gender has nothing to do with leadership. Intellect, experience, wisdom, discernment, integrity, character, bravery and strength of conviction provide the basis for great leadership.
Many men have risen to power who were remarkable leaders. Hitler was a remarkable leader; he was hardly great. Was he an evil lunatic because of his gender? Think about it. If you want to go to the gender argument, look at all of the maniacal, evil, greedy, murderous leaders throughout history. What was the percentage of those who were women?

Both genders are equal in the smarts department, hard to say if we would be better off with a woman as President, as long as woman don't adopt the bad habits or ego problems some men in power have, they do tend to be better stewards of the responsibility they are given as far as running the organizations entrusted to them. see nothing wrong with it.

I think either can lead effectively given the persons personality and strengths. But, women in general, tend to use emotion as a guide to make decisions! Not always or entirely, but on average more than men.

Doesn't matter. Consider the persons education, involvement (previous experience), organizational skills and references.
